Godchaux is a football player. He is currently a defensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints. He previously played for the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots, but was traded to the Saints in March 2025.
How did Chanel Iman meet her husband?
Iman and Godchaux first met at a beach club in Miami in 2022, according to Vogue. They went public with their romance at Coachella in April of that year, shortly after Iman’s divorce from her first husband (more on that below).
Godchaux popped the question in 2023 while the two were vacationing in Capri, Italy. They had their civil wedding ceremony in January 2024, followed by an elopement aboard a yacht in the Caribbean Sea the following month.

Do Chanel Iman and her husband have kids?
Yes, Iman and Godchaux share one child. Their daughter, Capri, was born in September 2023, just four months after Godchaux popped the question.

The stars also both have children from previous relationships. Iman is a mother of two daughters, Cali and Cassie, born in 2018, and 2019, respectively. Meanwhile, Godchaux has a son, Duce.
Did Chanel Iman date A$AP Rocky?
Yes, Iman and A$AP Rocky were in a relationship from 2013 to 2014. They were even rumored to be engaged at one point in 2014, although they split just months later.
Rocky later revealed to MTV that he was the one who ended the relationship, strictly due to realizing that the model “deserved better” than him.

“I got really depressed [when] me and Chanel broke up in June,” he admitted in the 2015 interview. “I got really depressed because I knew that. She deserves better than me. That’s the truth and everybody knows it. And I don’t wanna be the guy to Lauryn Hill her, if you know what I’m saying. I love her so much so that I would rather [fall back] than to be with her and hurt her. I don’t want to hurt her.”
At the time, Rocky confirmed that the two were still in each other’s lives, adding, “She’s best friend, man, for real.”
Who was Chanel Iman’s first husband?
Before she married Godchaux, Iman tied the knot with football player Sterling Shepard. They got married in March 2018 after meeting at Victor Cruz’s birthday party in 2016. Shepard is the father of Iman’s two older daughters.
In January 2022, it was confirmed that Iman and Shepard had separated, although their divorce filing is from June 2021. The divorce was finalized in 2023.
“The parties have experienced irreconcilable differences which differences have caused a break down in the marital relationship,” the June 2021 paperwork said. “Said irreconcilable differences have existed for at least six months prior to the filing this Complaint and there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation.”
The exes share joint custody of their daughters.
