Hallmark Channel is the home of all things Christmas. In 2024, the network debuted its first-ever reality competition series, Finding Mr. Christmas, featuring 10 hopeful hunks vying to be the next Hallmark movie star.

Jonathan Bennett, one of the show’s creators and executive producers, also served as the host and mentor to the studs as they competed for the title of Mr. Christmas. At the end of the first season, the dashing Ezra Moreland emerged as the winner of Finding Mr. Christmas Season 1.

With Season 2 of Finding Mr. Christmas set to premiere on October 27, Swooon is taking a look back at Season 1, Moreland’s life after winning, and where he is now.

The contestants on Finding Mr. Christmas are competing for a leading role in a Hallmark movie. When Moreland was crowned the first-ever winner, he got the opportunity of a lifetime. He was cast in the 2024 Hallmark movie Happy Howlidays. Moreland played the leading role of Max, a dog shelter owner, who crosses paths with Mia (Jessica Lowndes), a web editor who takes in a stray dog. The movie was part of Hallmark Channel’s 2024 Countdown to Christmas lineup.

“This has been one of the wildest and most beautiful experiences of my entire life! I had no idea that this much energy and passion and focus is required from every single individual involved while making a movie!” he wrote on Instagram in 2024.

What is Ezra Moreland doing now?

Moreland, who is also a model, is currently living in New York City. “It’s interesting. It feels more like a sense of home than I was expecting. So, it feels great, and I love everything about this city so far,” he told Hollywood Hills Magazine.

After starring in Happy Howlidays, Moreland was cast in a Lexus commercial. He called the experience a “dream come true.”

As for what’s next, Moreland told the outlet that he’s “fully committed in the film world now, and it’s crazy because now I know how much I don’t know. The more I learn about acting, the more I realize how deep the art goes, and I am even more impressed by the greats, and I just hope to be one of them someday.”

Prior to Finding Mr. Christmas, Moreland was a U.S. Navy rescue swimmer for a helicopter squadron. He joined after graduating high school. “That was the smartest thing I’ve ever done in my life,” he told The New York Times. The Wichita, Kansas, native was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, and eventually moved to Miami and started his modeling career.
