Every Celebrity ‘Arrest’ Sabrina Carpenter Has Made During Her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ Tour

Everyone wants to be arrested by Sabrina Carpenter — even celebrities.

Of course, the pop star isn’t actually sending people to jail. Whether you’ve attended the Short n’ Sweet tour yourself or you’ve been following her concerts online, you’ve probably seen Carpenter single out a member of the crowd right before she launches into her song “Juno.” A nod to her lyrics, she presents a lucky audience member with “fuzzy pink handcuffs” after a bit of flirting. Their crime? Being too hot.

At first, Carpenter’s gag only involved fans. Slowly but surely, however, it’s become commonplace for celebrities to participate, especially if Carpenter is playing at a festival or in a major city. From what we can tell, Millie Bobby Brown kicked off the trend last fall, and a dozen celebrities later, Anne Hathaway is one of the latest to join in on the fun.

So, who else has been cuffed during the Short n’ Sweet tour? We have a running list of all of Carpenter’s high-profile arrests in chronological order below. Let’s wind it back to October 2024, when the tour made its way to Atlanta, Georgia. Brown took a break from filming the final season of Stranger Things to watch Carpenter’s show. In the clip, the singer says, “Millie, I’ve never fallen in love at a concert before, but stranger things have happened. It’s so unfortunate we have to arrest you because you’re so beautiful. That sucks.”

It turns out, we might have Brown to thank for the slew of celebrity arrests. In a Vanity Fair interview a few months later, Brown explained that she DM’d Carpenter and put in the request herself.

Next up was singer Declan McKenna, who served as the opener for the first leg of Carpenter’s tour. “You look just like Declan McKenna,” Carpenter joked during her Phoenix tour stop on November 14, 2024. “Do you know that? Do you get that a lot? My celebrity crush is Declan McKenna, so that’s so crazy that you look just like him and you’re wearing a ‘camaraderie’ shirt.” He pretended to faint afterward. (Honestly, we’d do the same.)

The next day, I Love LA star Rachel Sennott got “Juno”-ed. “Do you wanna go to jail, but like, in a cute way?” Carpenter asked the actress during her Los Angeles show.

Marcello Hernandez

In perhaps the most iconic arrest so far, Marcello Hernandez joined the bit in Los Angeles. Why was it so iconic, you might be wondering? Hernandez is the only celeb so far to get a mic, allowing him to banter back and forth with the singer, since he was in character as Saturday Night Live’s Domingo. That’s a tough act to beat.

During the final North American stop of the tour, Carpenter almost arrested Jack Antonoff, who produced the album she was touring, but the singer ended up calling out his wife instead. “Hey, this is super awkward,” Carpenter began, “but I’m sure you’re probably really good at producing. In fact, I’m almost so confident that you could produce someone even hotter than you.”

That’s when actress Margaret Qualley stepped into the camera’s frame. “This right there, ladies and gentlemen, this is a hottie with substance,” Carpenter quipped, referencing Qualley’s movie The Substance.

Flashing forward to March 2025, Carpenter called out Spice Girls alum Emma Bunton in London. “You’re kind of like spicing up my life a little bit,” the singer joked.

A couple of days later, Salma Hayek got the spotlight at Carpenter’s concert. During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon a few months after the concert, the actress revealed that her daughter got herself stuck in the cuffs. “But eventually, we started smacking on things, and she liberated herself from the handcuffs,” she explained. “But that was kind of like, I just did not want to explain to [her] school.”

Rachel Chinouriri warmed up Carpenter’s crowd during the European leg of the tour, so she got arrested during their Stockholm stop in April 2025. “I’m glad I got arrested yesterday, because today I’m not feeling as beautiful,” Chinouriri told Vogue Scandinavia. “But yesterday, I’m not gonna lie, I was looking nice.”

She continued, “When Sabrina’s team was like, ‘OK, you’re getting arrested’, I was like, ‘Woo!’… and then I ran backstage and redid my hair and everything.”

Carpenter made a double arrest at London’s BST Hyde Park festival: Ayo Edebiri and singer Clairo. In a cheeky moment, they started doing the TikTok-viral dance to Charli XCX’s song “Apple” as soon as they appeared on camera. “So it’s close, but it’s just a different show,” Carpenter remarked during her July 2025 performance.

Carpenter made her performance at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival even more special by arresting the members of the K-pop trio Twice. “Would you guys wanna like get married, maybe?” she asked, and the group asked her to pick only one of them in response. Carpenter replied, “What if you guys link arms and we count it as one?”

In October 2025, Austin City Limits got singer Olivia Dean, who was included in the festival’s lineup, as its arrestee. “I don’t have a lot of good pickup lines, but could I be the man you need, maybe?” Carpenter said, nodding to one of Dean’s songs.

Carpenter got the internet talking when she sent Stranger Things star Joe Keery to jail. (He’d performed earlier in the day under his stage name, Djo.) As soon as Keery appeared on the screen, he was met with screams from the crowd. “You know, Joe, it’s actually cuffing season. I don’t know if you know that,” she said. When Joe offered her his wrists in response, the singer added, “You seem very eager, actually.”

Model Gigi Hadid was detained by Carpenter during her Pittsburgh tour stop. When the singer asked where she was from, Hadid’s answer was Bucks County. (Her family owns a farm there.) “I’m kind of from there, too. That’s so crazy,” Carpenter replied. “Wow, maybe we are soulmates.”

When Carpenter made her way to New York in October 2025, she made one of her highest-profile arrests yet with Anne Hathaway. “Where are you from?” Carpenter asked before adding a The Princess Dairies joke, “Genovia! Has anyone ever told you [that] you look like a princess?”

It was a Girl Meets World reunion at Madison Square Garden. The actor attended his former costar’s October 29 show. When Fogelmanis told Carpenter he wasn’t single, she joked that they could have some fun and it would be their secret.
