Who is Mark Ballas’ wife?
Ballas is married to Brittany Jean Carlson, better known as BC Jean, the 38-year-old singer-songwriter behind Beyoncé‘s hit 2009 single, “If I Were a Boy.” According to Ballas, he met Jean at a mutual friend’s house in 2012. Looking back, he shared, “It was kind of like a fun party night where singers and musicians would get up and perform.” When he heard her voice, he was completely taken by her and pursued her for three months before she agreed to a taco date. The rest, as they say, was history.
When did Mark Ballas and BC Jean get married?
Ballas and Jean got engaged in 2016 and got married nearly a year later. The two tied the knot at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California, where they leaned into a bohemian theme. At their wedding, Jean made the bold choice to have all of her bridesmaids wear bridal dresses to match her cream color palette. She told The Knot, “I’ve been a bridesmaid before, and the last thing I wanted was for everyone to spend money on a dress they would never wear again, or put them in an ugly color. I wanted everyone to feel like it was their wedding day, too.”
Do Mark Ballas and BC Jean have kids?
Eight years after they got married, Ballas and Jean welcomed their son, Banksi Wylde Ballas, in November of 2023. On December 5, 2023, Jean posted, “Happy one month, sweet boy. You are so loved.” Now that Banski is nearly two years old, Ballas is proud to watch Dancing With the Stars as a family. During this season, he wrote, “There’s a lot of noise this time around & it’s more intense than usual. But… This makes it all worth it. Being able to show my son what I have dedicated my life to is all I wanted.”
