How long was Hilary Farr married?
Hilary and Gordon were married for 26 years. They tied the knot in 1982 and split in 2008. She has not publicly spoken about the reason for their split, although she did call the divorce “horrendous” during an interview with Vulture.
Because Love It or List It was beginning right around this time, Hilary said the show “was a godsend because it meant I could pay the lawyers and because it was a diversion, which I needed.”
Who is Gordon Farr?
Gordon is a film writer and producer who is best known for his work on The Love Boat. In addition to serving as a producer on the show, Gordon also directed some episodes. His other credits include The Bob Newhart Show and Lightning Force.
Before marrying Hilary, Gordon was married to producer Lynne Farr, whom he worked with on The Love Boat for its first three seasons. While Aaron Spelling is the notable producer on the show, Gordon claimed that it was actually his idea.
“It was my show, I had been flogging it everywhere, but Aaron Spelling got the idea from someone at Columbia I had pitched it to,” he claimed in an interview with The National Post. “I had pitched it everywhere. All the networks were witnesses. ABC was scheduled to carry it, so our lawyers wanted to depose Fred Silverman, head of ABC.”
The men reached a settlement, with Gordon and Lynne becoming producers of the show and Aaron being named executive producer.
While it’s unclear how Hilary and Gordon met, she dabbled in acting in the late 1970s and early 1980s, so they likely crossed paths in that way.
Does Hilary Farr have kids?
Yes, Hilary and Gordon share one child. Their son, Josh, was born in 1983. Josh has three children of his own, and Hilary paid tribute to him in a post for Father’s Day in 2020.

Are Hilary Farr and David Visentin in a relationship?
Because Hilary and David worked so closely together for so many years, there was often speculation that they were in a relationship. However, the two were never romantically involved.
David has been married to his wife, Krista Grycko-Visentin, a fellow realtor, since 2006. They have a son, Logan, born in 2011.
Following Farr’s Love It or List It exit, David got a new cohost, Page Turner, in 2025. However, he told TV Insider that he and Farr have remained “friends forever” since she left the show. “You can’t work with somebody for that long and not appreciate them as a human being and have love for them,” he shared. “I appreciate everything she gave to this show since 2008. I mean, it got to be where it is because of her.”
