What To Know

  • Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey gives a Season 4 update.
  • He teases that fans’ minds will be blown by the first episode.
  • Bailey is set to reprise his role as Anthony in Season 4.

Bridgerton‘s fourth season is on the horizon, but until Part 1 arrives in January 2026, fan-favorite star Jonathan Bailey, who plays eldest brother Anthony, is giving fans a fun tease about what they can expect.

The star, who was in attendance at the Time100 Next event in New York on October 30, got candid about why fans are sure to fall under Season 4’s spell. “I’ve seen the first episode, and it’s phenomenal,” Bailey told Time. “It’s really, really good.”

As viewers already know, Bridgerton‘s fourth season will chronicle the events of Julia Quinn’s book An Offer From a Gentleman, which covers the romance between Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Beckett, whose name is being changed to Baek in order to better reflect star Yerin Ha‘s Korean heritage.

In the story, Benedict is enchanted by the mysterious Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball, unaware that her true identity is that of Sophie, a woman working as a servant for one of the Ton’s families. The story reflects themes found in Cinderella, and Bailey’s words further confirm the exciting upstairs-downstairs element Season 4 will fold in.

“There’s one shot that happens quite early on in the episode that will blow the fans’ minds,” the actor teased. “It takes everyone on a journey to new parts of the household… It’s brilliant.” While Bailey didn’t reveal too much, his words seem to confirm that the downstairs will play a role in the show this season, as he followed up with, “Oh no, I’ve just said too much.”

Still, he commends his costars, Thompson and Yerin, as he said, “Luke is phenomenal and Yerin,” in addition to “Katie [Leung] and everyone who’s joined the cast.”

Bailey will reprise his role as Anthony when Season 4 returns, but details about his reprisal remain unknown beyond a brief glimpse fans got of him in Bridgerton‘s Seasons of Love tease in February 2025. His onscreen wife, Simone Ashley, will similarly reprise her role as Kate Bridgerton. Fans will recall the duo traveled to India for the birth of their first child in Season 3, and only time will tell how that may be incorporated into the show.
