Hutcherson is dating Claudia Traisac. The 32-year-old hails from Leganés, Spain. Like Hutcherson, Traisac is an actress. She had a notable recurring role in the Spanish series Cuéntame cómo pasó. Her most recent role was playing Lucia in the Spanish Netflix series Breathless. She’s also had roles in 2025 films, Follow My Voice and Después de la derrota, the latter of which she also produced.
How did Josh Hutcherson and Claudia Traisac meet?
Hutcherson and Traisac met on the set of Escobar: Paradise Lost. They started dating in 2013. They confirmed their relationship in 2015 while discussing how they’ve tackled long distance dating since Hutcherson was living in the United States and Traisac was based in Spain.

“It’s pretty good. Distance is hard, but we make it work,” Hutcherson told E! News. Traisac gushed, “I’m really happy. It’s really great.”
The couple has continued to stay mostly private about their relationship. They’ve only attended a handful of public events together over the years. Their last red carpet appearance as a couple was at the 2015 premiere of Escobar: Paradise Lost. Hutcherson and Traisac then attended a 2026 Los Angeles Clippers game together.
The actor recently spoke about changing the name of his dog for his love. “My girlfriend is from Madrid, and she couldn’t really say Smudge — it’s a hard word to pronounce in Spanish,” Hutcherson told People. “We looked up that Mancha is the Spanish for a smudge, and so Manchi became the cute Spanish version.”

Hutcherson currently splits his time between Los Angeles and Madrid, Spain. Back in 2024, the Five Nights at Freddy’s star opened up about learning to speak Spanish for his girlfriend. “I”m like close to fluent,” Hutcherson said on Live With Kelly and Mark. “I can understand everything and basically communicate what I want. My conjugation is really bad, but I never studied it is the thing.”
He continued, “My girlfriend, we’ve been together a long time, and after a few years she was like, ‘Mi, amor. you have to learn.'” Hutcherson dedicated himself to learning the language as he sought to create a life in Madrid with Traisac.
