However, while they have both raced into the final episode, which airs on December 10, they’re not partners on the travel show, which features a cast of former Big Brother stars racing with their loved ones.
After their time in the Big Brother house came to an end, Hale and Abdin pursued a romantic relationship. Although they took things slowly at first, their romance was confirmed by November 2022 after weeks of speculation.

Hale announced the split on her Instagram Story in April 2023. “Joseph and I have made the decision to love and support one another as best friends going forward,” she wrote. “We recognize that this is what’s best for both of our futures at this time. This decision was made with lots of love, care, and acknowledgement of how special our relationship is to the both of us.”
She went on to thank her fans and followers for the “love and support” they’d given. “We’ve seen every message about how watching an interracial relationship form impacted you, in spite of the ongoing harassment, and we’re touched by how our love has inspired you.”
Why did Taylor Hale and Joseph Abdin split?
The couple reportedly split due to the long-distance nature of their relationship, according to Us Weekly. Abdin lives in Florida and works as a lawyer, leaving him tied to his home state for professional and personal reasons. Meanwhile, Hale is from Michigan and reportedly realized that she wasn’t willing to move to Florida to be with Abdin.

Hale and Abdin appear to be on amicable terms more than two years after their split. However, the exes no longer follow each other on social media, so it is unclear where they truly stand. On The Amazing Race, there hasn’t appeared to be bad blood between them (even with Hale competing alongside on/off boyfriend Kyland Young). In fact, Abdin and Hale called themselves best friends.
When she announced the breakup, she made it clear they planned to stay friendly. “Joseph and I will continue to support each other enthusiastically, and we encourage you to do the same, as you always have,” she wrote. “Ain’t no love lost over here! We will always be part of each other’s lives. Whether platonic or romantic we are, and always will be, Jaylor.”

In August 2023, the two spent time together at a Big Brother 25 premiere party, and Hale even posted a now-deleted photo of her ex kissing her on the cheek, which she captioned, “It’s forever.”
In April 2024, Hale posted a video on Instagram of her and Abdin and wrote, “When your long distance ex is your long distance best friend.” She captioned it, “That’s still the other half 🖤.”
