‘Golden Bachelor’ Exes Gerry Turner & Theresa Nist Attend Season 2 Finale After Book Drama
What To Know
- Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist were both in attendance for The Golden Bachelor Season 2’s After the Final Rose taping.
- The exes recently shared differing accounts of their breakup amid the release of Turner’s book.
- It’s unclear whether they actually interacted at the event following the drama.
There were tons of Bachelor Nation alums in the audience at the After the Final Rose taping during The Golden Bachelor Season 2 finale, including Season 1 Golden Bachelor exes Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist.
And while exes from the franchise are in the same place quite often, this was likely one awkward run-in. After all, just last week, Turner released a book where he wrote about his relationship with Nist and their divorce, and he didn’t necessarily have the most positive things to say. Meanwhile, Nist fired back with her own accounts in public interviews after the book’s release.
It’s unclear if the two actually interacted at the event. They were seated on opposite sides of the room. Nist watched the taping with Season 1 runner-up Leslie Fhima and some of the other women from Season 2. Meanwhile, Turner was seated separately and brought his new fiancée, Lana Sutton, with him.

Turner and Nist got engaged on Season 1 of The Golden Bachelor in 2023. They tied the knot in January 2024 and then announced their split that April. In his memoir, Turner shared many stories about why he thinks things didn’t work out, many of which Nist refuted. She claimed that several of her ex-husband’s stories were “made up” and complete fabrications from what actually happened.
Perhaps the most shocking tale Nist told, though, was how Turner allegedly once joked about killing her and hiding the body. “I finally went to his house, and we took a walk around this lake called Pretty Lake, and we were coming to the end of it, and he said … this is really bizarre. He said, ‘You see that shed up there?'” she shared on the Dear Shandy podcast. “I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Well, that’s where I’m going to hide your body after I kill you and chop you up,’ And he wasn’t laughing. I said, ‘Well, if this was his idea of a joke, that was pretty dark humor.'”
Nist clarified that she wasn’t actually in fear that Turner was going to kill her, but added, “I just felt like there was animosity in that statement that was underlying. Like, maybe if he could have gotten rid of me somehow. I don’t think he would have killed me, no, I don’t think that was true. It wasn’t true. It’s not true. But it just spoke to an underlying feeling about me.”
Turner told Swooon that he would be open to becoming friends with his ex-wife again. “Oh, sure. I don’t know why not. We shared an experience that was quite unique, and I would say, yeah, that should be a possibility,” he said.
While Nist and Turner’s love story didn’t work out, things will hopefully end better for the Season 2 couple, Mel Owens and Peg Munson. They did not get engaged, but made a commitment to one another and confirmed at ATFR that they’re still together.
