Mel Owens‘ journey came to an end during the Wednesday, November 12, finale of The Golden Bachelor Season 2. After Cindy Cullers self-eliminated because Mel told her he wasn’t ready for an engagement, the 66-year-old former NFL star made things official with his other remaining woman, Peg Munson.
Prior to the breakup with Cindy, Mel spent the night with Peg in the fantasy suite. Once Cindy left, Mel paid the retired firefighter a visit in her hotel room, where he opened up to her about what happened, and assured her that he still wanted them to be together at the end. She then got the chance to meet his sons, Lucas and Andre, before they reunited at the final rose ceremony.

Yes, Mel and Peg are still together. They confirmed that their relationship is going strong when they appeared on After the Final Rose as a couple.
“I found the one,” Mel confirmed to host Jesse Palmer. He also flat-out revealed, “I’m in love with her. What’s not to be in love with?” Peg agreed, adding, “I’m in love with him, 100%.”
Footage was shown of the two spending time together on their happy couple visits. “We’ve had some time [together],” Mel confirmed. “One thing that I love about her is her energy and her get-up-and-go, no matter what. That’s what I love about her. That’s why I fell in love with her.”

Peg also shared some clips from their recent time spent together on Instagram. “Happiness looks a lot like this 😍,” she wrote. ”Splashing, laughing, and loving every moment together. Water guns, poolside kisses, and a whole new chapter beginning right here 🥰✨.”

“I have a ring. This represents our commitment to love, to give us time to figure out, together, what our future holds,” Mel said when he presented Peg with the jewelry. She replied, “I agree. I think it would be absolutely wonderful. We’re on the same page with that.”
Palmer asked the couple if a proposal is on the horizon, and while they didn’t discuss their plans, Peg explained why they’re OK with taking things slow. “Being in your 60s and going through life, you get to write your own love story,” Peg said. “And we’re on the same page. That’s a love story we get to write the way we want to do it, continue to grow our love, continue to spend time with our families. That’s the nice thing about being in your 60s and golden years, is doing what you want to do with that connection you have with somebody.”
Where do Mel Owens and Peg Munson live?
Mel lives in Orange County, California, while Peg lives in Las Vegas, so they’re not too far apart. They didn’t reveal whether there are any plans for either of them to move at this point, but they did say they have a lot of plans coming up to spend time together.
“We’re going to go to Vegas on Friday, just hang out in Vegas for the weekend and chill out and relax,” Peg shared. Mel added, “After that, we’re gonna go to Michigan, and then there’s also the Super Bowl…”
