Did Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally End Up Together?

What To Know

  • Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally features a shy songwriter and a boisterous singer who become a music duo.
  • Ross Lynch’s Austin and Laura Marano’s Ally date on and off throughout the series.
  • The finale features a 10-year time jump, confirming who Austin, Ally, and their friends Dez and Trish end up with.

Sure, Austin Moon and Ally Dawson began every episode of Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally singing, “There’s no way I could make it without’cha, do it without’cha, be here without’cha,” but that doesn’t mean that their relationship was always a perfect duet.

In 2011, Disney Channel released the pilot episode of Austin & Ally, introducing viewers to shy songwriter Ally Dawson (Laura Marano) and overnight musical sensation Austin Moon (Ross Lynch), who makes a name for himself by stealing her (deeply catchy) song. Throughout four seasons of creating music together, with the support of their quirk besties Trish De la Rosa (Raini Rodriguez) and Dez Wade (Calum Worthy), Austin and Ally fostered one of the greatest slow burn, friends-to-lovers relationships of the 2010s, before parting ways both creatively and romantically near the end of the show.

Below, we’re breaking down everything that happened at the end of Austin & Ally, including whether they got back together, who Trish and Dez ended up with, and more.

Did Austin and Ally end up together?

In the final episode of Austin & Ally, Trish and Dez devise a plan to get their best friends back together after a four-year time jump. Turns out, they had a breakup so explosive that they don’t even want to look at each other, let alone reconcile. As Dez puts it, “All I know is that if we can get Austin and Ally in the same room, everything will be fine, and we’ll all go back to being friends.” All they need is “an elaborate plan that involves lying, trickery, and deceit.”

To bring the exes back together, Trish and Dez tell them both that they’ll be individually performing on The Helen Show, creating the perfect onscreen Austin and Ally reunion. After Helen’s interview turns into one of the most awkward moments in Disney Channel history, Austin and Ally reconcile backstage and come back out to sing a final duet together. On stage, he tells her, “Ally, I still love you,” to which she responds, “I never stopped loving you.”

Even so, she tells him, “No matter how much we love each other, we always seem to be headed in different directions.” With Ally at college and Austin pursuing a solo career, there seems to be no place for the other in their lives. However, Austin asks, “Then why don’t we head in the same direction? We can write, record, and tour together.” Sharing a kiss, the two become “an official duo” in life and music. So yes, Auslly shippers, Austin and Ally do end up together

How did Austin & Ally end?

At the end of the Austin & Ally series finale, “Duets & Destiny,” viewers get a taste of what Austin, Ally, Dez, and Trish’s lives look like 10 years later. In the music shop, Austin and Ally show their daughter and son the video of them getting back together on The Helen Show. Ally tells their mini-mes, surrounded by awards and accolades from the past decade, “After that, we went on tour together, and when we were in Paris, your father asked me to marry him.”

Then “Aunt Trish” and “Uncle Dez” enter the shop, revealing that they still work together, now as a successful actress and director. In the end, Austin and Ally head back up to their studio and sit down at the piano as Austin jokes, “We only have 18 hours to write the greatest song ever,” calling back to the first episode. From there, they play a slowed-down version of the show’s theme song as the credits roll. We’re not crying, you’re crying!

Who did Dez end up with in Austin & Ally?

For anyone who watched the first episode and thought for sure that Dez and Trish had enemies-to-lovers vibes going on (our hands are most certainly raised), we’re sorry to say that they did not end up together. Instead, Dez ends up with Shredder’s waitress Carrie (Hannah Kat Jones). Throughout the series, Dez and Carrie have a bit of an on-again, off-again relationship. However, the finale proves that Dez and Carrie are married and have a six-year-old named Darrie (they truly just combined their names), who is so smart that he’s already in college.

Who did Trish end up with in Austin & Ally?

Naturally, Trish ends the series with her ultimate rival, Chuck (John Paul Green). Throughout the series, Chuck has a massive (unreciprocated) crush on Trish and often calls her nicknames like Trish-kabab and Trish-a-licious. While the duo did end up going to prom together, it was not clear that Trish actually tolerated, let alone liked Chuck, until the finale, when he calls her Wifey-poo and she calls him Chuck-a-licious. They also have a daughter, who, taking after Trish, enters the music store proudly saying, “Guess who won Little Miss Preschool?”

Did Ross Lynch and Laura Marano date in real life?

While their onscreen connection sparked many rumors, Lynch and Marano never dated IRL. Similarly, Lynch recently squashed the widely believed theory that he had dated Raini Rodriguez during their time on Disney Channel. He told PinkNews, “There was a crazy rumour for a hot minute that me and Raini Rodriguez had a secret relationship. I was like: ‘Where did y’all get that from! Like… I don’t even know, man.'”
