If we had one gripe with Maxton Hall, it’s that we need more. Six episodes per season simply is not enough Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James (Damian Hardung) content to satisfy us. Thankfully, Prime Video seems to understand our love for the couple, so the streamer has been keeping fans fed with deleted scenes.
They’re easy to miss if you aren’t looking for them, but Prime Video has been releasing the deleted scenes under the “Extras” tab since Season 2 started airing. However, it seems that if you don’t watch the clip before the next one arrives, it disappears from the platform — but that’s what social media is for! Maxton Hall fans have dutifully been capturing the bonus content and posting them online. Prime Video even uploaded one to its own TikTok account. To make things a little easier for you, Swooon has put them all in one place, and we’ve also broken down exactly what happens in each clip.
Maxton Hall Season 2: Episode 1 Deleted Scene
The first scene comes from Episode 1, taking place between Lydia looking for her brother at Ruby’s house and the duo arriving at the pool party. In the Episode 1 scene, Ruby notices that Lydia (Sonja Weißer) is rubbing her stomach worriedly, prompting her to ask if her baby’s OK. When Lydia vaguely explains that there was a fight at home — when James punched his dad for not immediately telling them about their mom’s death — Ruby’s mind immediately goes to James. “I don’t know,” Lydia responds when Ruby asks about his well-being. Ruby grabs her hand to give her comfort. Keep in mind, at this point, Ruby still doesn’t know that their mom died.
The final cut of the show doesn’t provide any explanation for how Lydia and Ruby find James at Cyril’s (Ben Felipe) pool party. In the scene, it’s revealed that Alistair (Justus Riesner) helps, texting James’ location to Ruby. Even if he was inadvertently responsible for making Ruby bear witness to James’ drunken cheating, Alistair is still a real one for keeping Ruby in the loop.

Fans immediately flocked to the comment section, many of them wondering why the scene was cut in the first place. “GIVE US THE DIRECTOR’S CUT!!!” reads one user’s contribution, which got thousands of likes.
Maxton Hall Season 2: Episode 4 Deleted Scene
The next deleted scene is far less serious. In the final version of Episode 4, we simply see Ruby desperately tidying up and searching for an outfit ahead of James’ visit. In the bonus footage, we find out that she’s completely unaware that James is already in her living room, meeting with Ruby’s parents and sister on his own.
At first, James declines the cookie Ruby’s mom offers him, but then he nervously accepts it. When crumbs fall onto his lap, he brushes them onto the floor, which he immediately apologizes for and starts picking up. Ruby’s dad (Martin Neuhaus) asks if James is the reason for Ruby’s unhappiness over the past few weeks, and her mom (Gina Henkel) chimes in to ask about his intentions. Naturally, James starts choking on his cookie while Ember (Runa Greiner) threatens him. (As much as we love suave James, we need more awkward James.)
