90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way married couple Manon and Anthony Berryman have made it clear that they aren’t afraid to speak their minds to each other — and viewers of the show.
It’s no secret that Manon has become the self-described “villain Frenchy” on the 90 Day Fiancé spinoff due to her status as what her fans call “a strong, loud, opinionated woman.” Ahead of the December 1 episode, Manon took to social media to address some of the backlash she has received throughout the season from viewers, responding to the “hate comment” she receives most of all: “What does he see in her?”
“Well first why don’t you ask him directly,” Manon told her followers, directing them to her husband’s Instagram profile. “And second why is it SO HARD TO BELIEVE that some men can be attracted to big, plus size women?!” She continued to question, “Why does it bother people so much to see a fat woman being loved just the way she is? I know most people are going to make it about my “NASTY personality” but once again I’ll repeat it, I was going through something during filming the show!”
Following Manon’s call to ask Anthony about their relationship, he posted a heartfelt message about all the reasons why he loves her. He wrote, “People online have had a lot to say about my wife, our marriage, about who she is, and even her as a mom. Some of the comments have been brutal, cruel, and frankly wrong. It can be easy to watch a few edited moments and think you understand an entire relationship or a person. But, those moments rarely will give you the full picture.”
Defending Manon, he also shared some insight into her relationship with their son, Ben. “The truth is she is a good mom and a real partner,” he explained. “Despite what strangers online assume, Ben loves his mom.”
Throughout Season 7, Manon and Anthony have been candid about their marital issues, telling viewers that they were moving to France, where Manon is from, to save their marriage. Clearly, moving back to her hometown stirred up a lot of emotions for Manon, who moved to America to pursue the American Dream years prior. Now, Anthony is searching for a job that requires limited French so that Manon can spend more time at home with their son.

“There have also been many comments telling me to run, or I can do better than my wife,” he revealed. “We’ve had our challenges, and we’ve also fought through more than people will ever know. Loving someone isn’t about pretending everything is perfect. It’s about choosing to work through the challenges together.”
Concluding his first statement about the social media backlash his wife and relationship have faced, Anthony told his followers, “People will always have opinions. They’re allowed to. But they don’t know our whole story, and they don’t get to define us. We’re not here to live a perfect marriage or perfect parenthood for strangers we’re here to live a real one for our family.”
