Brooks has maintained his innocence since the lawsuit was filed, and even fired back with his own lawsuit against the woman, who is referred to as Jane Doe in the legal papers.
The case is ongoing, but People reported in July that Brooks and Yearwood’s relationship was not affected by the lawsuit. “They are doing absolutely fine,” a source confirmed to the outlet.

The singers met at a demo recording session and began working together. They started collaborating professionally in the years that followed. They sang background vocals on each other’s albums and even won a Grammy in 1998 for their collaboration on the song “In Another’s Eyes.”
Brooks and Mahl separated in March 1999 and finalized their divorce in 2001. Meanwhile, Yearwood and Latham split in 1991, and she married Robert Reynolds in 1994. They ended their marriage five years later.

No, Brooks and Yearwood do not have any children together. However, he shares daughters Taylor (born 1992), August (born 1994), and Allie (born 1996) with Mahl.
In 2007, Yearwood admitted on The View that she was “scared” of her husband’s kids, but had since embraced becoming a “bonus mom.”
“It became, ‘OK, I’m still scared, but it’s not as bad,'” she shared. “And then it became, ‘I love having them all the time.’ You fall in love with them. You learn why people have kids.”
She told People in 2021 that Brooks was supportive as she navigated her role in his daughters’ lives. “Garth was such a wonderful mentor to me as to how to be a parent, and he told me, ‘You’ll find your way with each of them. Don’t try to be their best friend, and don’t try to be their mom,'” she shared.
Yearwood also praised the girls for giving her “grace” during the transition period. “They let me learn my way and allowed me to be that third parent in their lives,” she admitted. “They were a gift that I didn’t know I needed. I didn’t know how much children brought into your life until I got a chance to be a part of their lives.”
