The 70-year-old traveled to the Big Apple with her current love, Rex Linn, 69, in the days leading up to the special. The country music icon and her Happy’s Place costar confirmed their engagement earlier this year, but have they tied the knot yet? Is Reba McEntire married?
As of November 2025, Reba McEntire isn’t married yet. She is just engaged to Rex Linn at the moment. The couple announced their engagement at the 2025 Emmy Awards. McEntire and Linn started dating in 2020 after the actress guest-starred on Young Sheldon. The stars reconnected nearly 30 years after meeting on the set of The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw.
Linn actually proposed to McEntire all the way back on Christmas Eve 2024. He initially planned to propose on a safari in Africa, but instead chose their ranch as the spot to get down on one knee. He popped the question with a rose-gold engagement ring set with black diamonds. “It sparkles all the time, and it doesn’t matter that I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned it,” McEntire gushed to USA Today. “I’m having a blast. I feel like a teenager again. It’s just a wonderful time.”

Who was Reba McEntire’s first husband?
McEntire’s first husband was Charlie Battles, a former steer wrestling champion and rancher. They wed in 1976, when she was 21 (Battles was 10 years her senior). The couple divorced in 1987, and McEntire moved to Nashville.
When did Reba McEntire marry Narvel Blackstock?
McEntire married her second husband, Narvel Blackstock, in 1989. At the time, he was her manager. They said “I do” on a boat at Lake Tahoe. McEntire and Blackstock’s personal and professional lives stayed intertwined. They created Starstruck Entertainment together, and he continued to manage her career.
Blackstock already had three children from his previous marriage: Chassidy, Shawna, and Brandon. McEntire gave birth to her first and only child with Blackstock, Shelby Blackstock, in 1990.

The “I’m a Survivor” singer split from Blackstock in August 2015 after 26 years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized that October. Even though she’s no longer with Blackstock, McEntire remains close with her stepchildren. She mourned her ex’s son, Brandon, earlier this year after he died of skin cancer.
When are Reba McEntire and Rex Linn getting married?
McEntire and Linn haven’t announced any wedding plans yet. The “Fancy” singer made a point to stress that they’re just engaged right now during her December 1 appearance on Today. Host Savannah Guthrie referred to Linn as McEntire’s “husband,” to which McEntire responded, “Well, now wait a minute. Before everybody has a conniption fit at home — we’re just engaged.”
After two divorces, McEntire doesn’t feel like she has to get married again, but if Linn wants to, she will. “I’ve been married twice. After the second one dissolved, I don’t have much faith in being bound by a piece of paper or a ring,” she told E! News in 2024. “I’m truly committed to Rex, so if that’s something he feels totally strong about, that’s fine with me. He’s never been married before. So if he wants to experience that, I’m OK with that.”
In her recent interview with USA Today, McEntire declared that she’s “happier now than I’ve ever been in my life.” She said about Linn, “God saved the best for last.”
