Scroll down for everything to know about their kids.

Drake

Chip and Joanna named their eldest son, Drake (born February 5, 2005) after New York City’s Drake Hotel, which is where they stayed on their honeymoon.

Drake is currently in his junior year of college at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Waco, Texas. He is on the baseball team and is studying business entrepreneurship.

In an August 2025 interview with Delish, Joanna revealed that her son has a girlfriend. She did not reveal her identity, but said they love to cook. “They have these nights where they go all out and they cook three, four, or five-course meals,” Joanna shared. “I mean, he still gets Whataburger, but I think the fact that he’s feeding himself … he’s making grilled chicken, he’s making steaks … he’s set for life.”

Joanna told People in 2019 that Drake was interested in the “production side” of his parents’ business ventures. “In the summer he’s up with the guys, and they’re teaching him how to edit,” she said.

Ella

Just 20 months after Drake was born, Chip and Joanna welcomed daughter Ella on October 20, 2006. She’s currently studying at The New School’s Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Chip previously said on Today that Ella was looking for schools far from the family’s home in Texas. “She seems excited to be able to spread her wings and do something very unique and outside the bubble,” he shared.

Ella is following in her parents’ footsteps as an interior designer. In Chip and Joanna’s upcoming series Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain Home, Ella will be designing a cottage on the property herself. She’s also interned for Chip and Joanna’s company, Magnolia.

Duke

Duke was born on May 23, 2008. The teenager has taken after his mother with a green thumb, as she revealed on Instagram in 2017, “He welcomed me home with this bounty and then asked if we could pickle some peppers together…” The caption was accompanied by a photo of Duke holding a pile of vegetables in his shirt.

Emmie

Following Duke was another baby girl named Emmie, born on January 5, 2010.

Like Duke, Emmie is interested in the cooking aspect of his family’s business ventures. In fact, she and her older brother used to have a farm truck where they sold eggs and vegetables. “We printed labels for them, and once a week they go out and sell,” Joanna once revealed.

Joanna has also said that Emmie “loves to bake,” and once even created her own cookie recipe.

Crew

Chip and Joanna’s youngest child, son crew, was born on June 21, 2018, eight years after Emmie. Joanna admitted that she was shocked to find out she was pregnant again at the age of 39. She gave birth to her youngest child when she was 40.

“When I saw the results of the test, my jaw dropped,” she admitted to People, adding that she took the pregnancy test because she was “feeling a little emotional and crazy.”

From a young age, Crew has been by his parents’ side as they’ve run their business. “He’s my little sidekick,” Joanna said when Crew was 9 months old. “He comes to work with me every day and goes to all my meetings.”

She also noted that the age gap between Crew and his siblings wasn’t an issue. “I think it’s sweet because they’re older now, and I can see them wanting to be a part of this,” she shared. “We’re all rallying around this baby, which I feel is a sweet gift to our family.”
