Lacey Chabert delights every time she’s on TV in a Hallmark movie, and she’s become a pro at juggling her acting career and life at home. When she’s not filming her various projects, Chabert is a dedicated mom and wife.
The actress, who stars in the new Hallmark holiday movie, She’s Making a List, recently opened up about her family life with her husband, David Nehdar, and their daughter, Julia. Chabert and her husband have worked out a system that keeps their day-to-day flowing smoothly despite busy schedules.
“We make school lunch every day. My husband and I take turns,” Chabert told People. “He’ll make breakfast if I make lunch. I tried to plan a menu at the beginning of the year, so I didn’t have to think, ‘What can I make besides a turkey sandwich?’ It lasted two weeks and went out the window. I’ll usually pack pasta or a sandwich or a quesadilla.”
The Haul Out the Halloween star and her husband “try not to turn on [the] TV in the morning” as their daughter gets ready for school. “We’ll talk about what’s in store for the day,” Chabert explained. “As a treat, sometimes I’ll say, ‘After school, you can have a ‘yes’ day.’ I’ll let her pick what we do for the afternoon. And that’s always a fun and special treat for us to look forward to.”
When Chabert drops Julia off at school, she always makes sure to kiss her daughter goodbye. “I tell her how proud I am of her and how much I love her, and I say, ‘The most important thing is not grades — obviously do your best — but it’s being kind to people,'” she recalled.
Chabert spoke with Swooon earlier this year about how her husband makes her swoon. “It really is the little things, and then, of course, romantic gestures are always welcome and always wonderful, but I think especially we’ve been married 10 years now, and marriage is just knowing that we see each other,” she said. “It’s feeling acknowledged and feeling appreciated and just feeling that love. It so genuine. I’m so grateful for it.”
