With only 28 days left until the series premiere of 56 Days, Prime Video finally released the steamy trailer for the new erotic thriller. The footage teases a rapid love affair between Ciara and Oliver, ending in a horrific murder. The only question is: Who’s dead, and who’s to blame?
On December 9, Prime Video gave viewers a first look at Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia in their new romantic thriller series. Based on the book by Catherine Ryan Howard of the same title, “56 Days follows Oliver (Jogia) and Ciara (Cameron), who, after meeting randomly in a supermarket, fall for each other fast and dangerously hard.” If you’re obsessed with Tell Me Lies and have been waiting since Gone Girl to find another thriller that will really make you think, this may be the perfect new series for you!

What is 56 Days about?
Prime Video has revealed that 56 Days follows Oliver and Ciara, who rapidly fall for each other after meeting randomly in a supermarket. After fifty-six days, homicide investigators arrive at Oliver’s apartment to find an unidentified body in the bathtub that appears to be intentionally decomposed.
Going back and forth between the murder investigation and Oliver and Ciara’s short, but steamy relationship, Prime teases, “the series is both a unique crime story and a riveting, sexy, psychological thriller.” The only question is: Did he kill her, or did she kill him?
Prime has made it clear that the adaptation is a departure from Catherine Ryan Howard’s original novel, changing the setting from pandemic-era Dublin to present-day Boston. However, her underlying question still stands: “No one knew they’d moved in together. Now one of them is dead. Could this be the perfect murder?” Our verdict: Absolutely.

In case you missed it, the trailer for Prime Video’s 56 Days has finally dropped. The trailer captures all 56 days of the couple’s whirlwind love affair, from their grocery store meet-cute to the moment the investigators arrive at his apartment, with all of the small fires, steamy moments, and shattered glass that came out of the days in between.
The trailer also teases a false identity for Jogia’s character, who pulls out two IDs with different last names as Cameron’s voiceover exclaims that she doesn’t like secrets. Instead, she likes “reveals.” The trailer ends with Cameron’s character flirtatiously telling Jogia’s, “I’m going to get you.” His response? “Not if I get you first.”

Who has been cast in 56 Days?
Former Disney Channel and Nickelodeon stars Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia have been cast as Ciara and Oliver in this sexy thriller. Cameron is best known for playing the main twins in Disney’s Liv and Maddie and Mal in Descendants. Jogia got his start playing Beck on Victorious, and later starred in the book-to-screen adaptation of Twisted. Aside from Cameron and Jogia, Karla Souza (How to Get Away with Murder) has been cast as Lee Reardon, and Dorian Missick (Shirley) as Karl Connolly.

56 Days is set to premiere in mid-February. All episodes will drop on February 18, 2026. That gives you just enough time to get your hands on the book and give it a read before the adaptation hits the small screen.
