Bozoma Saint John is back to putting her life out there on her second season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. During Season 14 (and now in Season 15), viewers have gotten to know Bozoma, her daughter, and her partner, Keely Watson.

Years before she was a reality television star, Bozoma was married to Peter Saint John, who died in 2013. Scroll down for what we know about their marriage, his death, her love life now, and more.

What happened to Bozoma Saint John’s husband?

Peter died on December 11, 2013, at the age of 44 after being diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma, a rare form of cancer. He received his diagnosis just seven months earlier and underwent chemotherapy before dying from the disease.

Bozoma and Peter were separated when he first got sick, but were back together by the time he died. “Ten years into our marriage, we separated,” Bozoma shared on an episode of RHOBH. “We never got divorced. But then he got sick, and we reconciled. He had cancer and, you know, it’s complicated.”

The businesswoman previously also lost her college boyfriend, Ben, to suicide. “Of course I have regrets,” she admitted in an essay for CNBC. “I wish I’d stayed home the night Ben rang my phone incessantly before he ended his life. I wish I’d been a better lover to Peter.”

How did Bozoma Saint John meet her first husband?

Bozoma and Peter met in early 1999 while they were both working in the same building in New York City. They first crossed paths in the cafeteria.

“I was ordering breakfast, and admittedly taking my time,” Bozoma revealed in an Instagram post. “He was impatient and also trying to find a way to get my attention. “He yelled out from the back of the line, ‘You look like royalty, but you don’t own this place. Hurry up and order!’ Well… he succeeded in getting my attention, and also royally pissing me off.”

After Peter tried to ask Bozoma out “for consecutive days after that,” she told him to read Toni Morrison‘s book Song of Solomon, assuming he wouldn’t do so. He proved her wrong. “He read the book within a week, and asked me out again,” Bozoma shared. This time I accepted because I wanted to make a fool of his arrogance and challenge his interpretation.”

But on their date, Peter “thoughtfully presented his perspective,” according to Bozoma. They began a relationship after that, and he proposed on the one-year anniversary of their first date. Bozoma and Peter tied the knot in June 2003.

Is Bozoma Saint John still with Keely?

Yes, Bozoma and Keely are still together. They got engaged on August 29. “Even though I knew we wanted to get married, I wasn’t sure where or when Keely would ask,” she told People. “I am still in shock and disbelief. I was nervous because I thought about how it would be when he asked, and I wanted to be able to be composed through it, but that was hard to do because my emotions were at an all-time high.”

The couple started dating in early 2024 or late 2023. They met through Keely’s nephew, who is married to artist Harmonia Rosales. Bozoma purchased a piece of Harmonia’s work and posed for photos with her and Keely’s nephew during an art exhibit in Atlanta. Keely saw the photos, and Bozoma caught his eye.

“I reached out to my nephew and mentioned that I found her attractive and asked who she was,” he revealed. When Keely’s nephew suggested to Bozoma that she meet his uncle, she wasn’t on board at first. “She said, ‘Do I look like I date uncles?'” Keely revealed. “His wife, Harmonia, came in and said she’d want to meet this uncle. They did a bit of research on social, and Bozoma decided to let them set it up. My nephew put us on a group text and from there, the rest is history.”

Does Bozoma Saint John have kids?

Yes, Bozoma has one child, a daughter, Lael, whom she shares with Peter. Lael was born in 2009 and is 16 years old.

She experienced a pregnancy loss before giving birth to Lael. “I got pregnant unexpectedly with my first daughter named Eve,” she shared on an RHOBH episode in February 2025. “Five months into my pregnancy, I discovered that I had early stages of preeclampsia, a disease that creates high blood pressure and starts to attack your pregnancy.”

Doctors admitted Bozoma into labor because of high blood pressure when she was six and a half months pregnant. “My baby didn’t survive,” she revealed.

Bozoma and Keely have discussed having a child of their own. Although Bozoma had fears about another pregnancy because of her past complications, she met with a fertility doctor, which calmed her nerves. Bozoma also underwent surgery to remove fibroids, with hopes that the surgery would improve her chances of successfully carrying another child.
