Eleven years ago, Juan Pablo Galavis was the lead on Season 18 of The Bachelor. He was the show’s first Latino lead. Although Galavis was a fan-favorite on The Bachelorette, he was widely disliked as the Bachelor. Particularly, his treatment of runner-up Clare Crawley and third-place’s Andi Dorfman was criticized.
Still, Galavis left The Bachelor in a relationship with Nikki Ferrell. They didn’t get engaged, but agreed to continue dating after filming. The love didn’t last long, though. What happened between them, and what is he doing now? Did he find love again? Scroll down for everything we know.
What is Juan Pablo Galavis doing now?
Galavis is currently working as a sports and music agent for RedWine Management and RedWine Sports. Specifically, he is a FIFA-licensed football agent and sports & entertainment consultant, per LinkedIn.
The former professional soccer player began his career in this industry in 2016 when he helped rebrand musician Daniel Morales, better known as Danny Ocean. With Galavis’ help, Morales signed a record and publishing deal, which sparked Galavis’ career in artist development.
He began working for RedWine and helped create the company’s sports division in 2019.
What happened between Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell?
Galavis and Ferrell broke up in October 2014, which means they stayed together for seven months after their season of The Bachelor finished airing.
Before the split was confirmed, Ferrell unfollowed her ex on Instagram and posted the message, “Pathetic how we waste so much time on certain people and in the end they prove that they weren’t even worth a second of it. Nope not one single second.”
On The Bachelor, Galavis was criticized for never saying “I love you” to Ferrell. She later confirmed that he eventually did start using those words, like in a “normal” relationship, but said it was “probably” too late.

“I think at that point I had come to the conclusion that we were different people, and we were never going to be on the same page,” Ferrell admitted at the premiere of The Bachelor Season 19 in 2015. She and Galavis appeared on VH1’s Couples Therapy to help fix their relationship, and she confirmed that they “real-life” tried, as well.
“I wasn’t going to quit. I’m not a quitter,” she told then-host Chris Harrison. “I tried everything, he tried, too. It wasn’t just a one-side thing.”
Ferrell cited “different lifestyles” and the long-distance relationship (she was living in Kansas City, while he was in Miami) as reasons for the split. “At the end of the day, we gave it a go, but we’re two different people,” she concluded.
Did Juan Pablo Galavis get married?
Galavis did eventually get married following his time on The Bachelor. He started dating Venezuelan model and TV host Osmariel Villalobos in 2016, and they tied the knot the following year.
He first saw a picture of Villalobos in 2015 and thought she was “cute,” so he followed her on Instagram. In May 2016, she posted a video of herself dancing with her nephew, which Galavis commented on. Villalobos replied, which prompted Galavis to take the conversation to a private message. Eventually, they exchanged phone numbers and started dating.
The marriage only lasted about two years, though. In March 2020, Villalobos confirmed the breakup in a now-deleted Instagram post, per Us Weekly.
“The happy endings in the stories of Disney are my favorites and I grew up yearning to marry a prince, have a beautiful home, a family and eventually a HAPPY ENDING, even though my marriage was not, at all well, I thank God for letting me live this experience and to continue staying in my hope that at some point, be able to live that fairy tale,” she wrote. “I want to close this chapter of my life in the same way it began, with LOVE, because even though I didn’t have a fairy tale, Juan Pablo tried to make me happy and I [tried to] make him happy … and in reality that is most important. You deserve this clarification, and so here it is. We are divorced.”
Does Juan Pablo Galavis have kids?
Yes, Galavis has a daughter named Camila, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Carla Rodríguez. Camila was born in 2009, years before Galavis was a reality television star.

In 2024, Camila auditioned for American Idol. She received “yes” votes from Luke Bryan and Katy Perry during her audition, but was eliminated during the next round (Hollywood Week).
Galavis and his daughter have a close relationship, and she’s often featured in posts on his Instagram page.
What happened to Juan Pablo Galavis on The Bachelorette?
Before he was the Bachelor, Galavis was on Season 9 of The Bachelorette with Desiree Hartsock. He was eliminated during Week 6 ahead of hometown dates.
Hartsock opened up about the breakup in her 2021 book The Road to Roses, where she explained that she and Galavis didn’t have “much to build on” after their initial attraction. She also recalled being inundated with hateful messages after the episode when she sent Galavis home aired. At the time, he was a beloved member of Bachelor Nation.
“It’s hard to explain what it’s like to experience such a tide of rage,” Hartsock admitted. “I was simultaneously shocked and bewildered. From the vitriolic reactions, you’d think I murdered Juan Pablo and his whole family, not simply eliminated him from a dating show.”
When Galavis became a Bachelor Nation “villain” on The Bachelor, Hartsock said she wasn’t “validated” because she and her now-husband Chris Siegfried supported the casting and liked Galavis. However, she added, “But [it was] a little bit, just to be like, ‘So now what are you going to say about me being an idiot?'”
