What To Know
- Cole Ellis returns in this exclusive Season 3 trailer of Wild Cards, reigniting his complicated relationship and crime-solving partnership with Max Mitchell.
- The new season features the return of Max’s long-lost mother, Vivienne, whose motives and past actions come into question.
- At the end of Season 2, Ellis left on a boat trip after Max failed to show up.
If you thought you’d seen the last of Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti), think again. After sailing off into the sunset on a boat trip that he thought Max Mitchell (Vanessa Morgan) would be joining him on, Ellis returns in this exclusive trailer of Wild Cards Season 3, which returns on January 26.
When Ellis steps back into Max’s life, that delicious tension between them is reignited. “Hey, Max. You miss me?” he asks her. They team up once again to solve crimes, but they also need to figure out their feelings for one another. Max and Ellis need to interrogate each other about what’s going on between them and get to the bottom of this complicated relationship.
This dynamic duo will have a number of memorable cases, including Max singing with boy bands and hitting a suspect with a dirty bedpan. The “dream team” is back together, as Max says!
As Max and Ellis settle back into their work dynamic, Max is dealing with the return of her long-lost mother, Vivienne (Tamara Taylor), who Max believed was dead. “Everything I’ve done has been for my husband and daughter,” Vivienne stresses. But is she telling the truth?
Vivienne needs to answer for the ultimate romance crime of preventing Max from making it to Ellis’ boat. Gianniotti previously told Swooon that “the repercussions” of Max’s no-show will be a core part of the third season.
He also revealed that the boat scene was supposed to include a kiss between Max and Ellis! “The way it was written in this finale is that, at the boat, they were supposed to share a kiss,” Gianniotti said. “I had brought this to Vanessa, and in the sort of will-they-won’t-they, I felt like it was too much too soon. And I, in fact, actually thought that it would be much more intimate if they did not kiss but felt all of that chemistry and sparks between them.”
