On Monday, December 15, the news broke that 90 Day Fiancé star Veronica Rodriguez and her fiancé, Seth Daryoushfer, were arrested in North Carolina. Now, her 90 Day Fiancé costars are reacting to the shocking news.
Veronica, who is best known for her appearances on Pillow Talk with her ex Tim Malcolm, was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence. Soon after, her fiancé, Seth Daryoushfer, who she had started publicly dating in January, was charged with assault on a female. It has not been confirmed that the woman in question was Veronica.
According to court documents obtained by People, Seth allegedly “grabbed Veronica, causing scratches to her wrists and thighs,” and Veronica used “physical force” to “strike [Seth] in the face.” He was released on a $2,500 bond, and she was released on a $500 bond.
This news comes only three months after TLC announced that Veronica and Seth had gotten engaged. The official 90 Day Fiancé Instagram page posted, “She’s got her own big news to talk about: Veronica is engaged! On her 40th birthday in Venice, her boyfriend, Seth, popped the question. Cheers to forever for this couple!”
After the news broke, fellow 90 Day Fiancé star Jamal Menzies, who briefly dated Veronica on 90 Day: The Single Life Season 3, took to his Instagram story, writing, “No comment, but some of you owe me an apology.” Fans may remember that Jamal broke up with Veronica over text by writing “take care” with a peace sign emoji.
In the comments of a post about Veronica’s arrest on a popular 90 Day Fiancé fan Instagram page, Jamal wrote, “Remember when I was going crazy because no one believed me when I called out Tim and Veronica for being the fakest people I ever met? Idc if people don’t like me from what they see on television but I’ve always kept it extremely authentic on and off camera unlike Ms. Mike Tyson.”
Usman Umar, who previously dated Jamal’s mom, Kimberly Menzies, on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 5, slammed Jamal in the same comments section for commenting on his ex’s arrest. Usman wrote, “He is not any better, someone I work hard to convince his mom to bring him on the show, after we brought him on the show he came down to Nigeria and we had great time with no argument but immediately he went back to US he sat in the room and tell the world I’m playing his MOM, if I was playing your mom why did she stay???”
He continued, “I’m not a [saint] but that dude is dangerous and he can do anything to be on that TV unfortunately he didn’t get any main character yet after all this s**t. [Veronica] might be wrong for whatever she did but that one should [shut] his mouth 🙄😏.” Whether this is acutally in defense of Veronica or just an excuse to comment of Jamal’s character is anyone’s guess.
