Where does Misty Raney live?

Misty, Maciah, and Gauge live in Alaska during the summer and Hawaii in the winter. During summers, she works on Homestead Rescue with Marty and Matt, then spends the winters surfing in Hawaii.

Misty and Maciah built their 800-square-foot cabin in Alaska themselves, from the ground up.

What does Misty Raney’s husband do for a living?

According to Misty’s bio, Maciah is a carpenter and a surfer. He also runs a business in Hawaii, renting out a camper van to guests who want to travel the island and camp overnight.

Maciah opened up about the business in a 2021 interview. He came up with the idea after realizing that housing affordability for residents in Hawaii was being impacted by vacation homes. “We thought, ‘What if we just did a few vans and sent people out on the road? Then they won’t be in a home,'” he explained.

At the time, he had three vans and had to restore them himself. “I had to become a mechanic,” Maciah said. “These Westies, they’re all old. They’re from 1980 to 1990 or so, and that’s right when issues start happening and you have to deal with electrical and mechanical things.”
