What To Know

  • Hoda Kotb spent Christmas with her ex Joel Schiffman.
  • She posted a selfie with him, their daughters, her mother, and sister.
  • The exes announced their split in 2022 after nearly a decade together.

Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman are continuing to put their daughters first following their 2021 split. On Christmas morning, Kotb shared a photo of her family celebrating the holiday, and Schiffman was front and center.

It’s been four years since Kotb and Schiffman ended their engagement, but they’ve made an effort to continue coparenting amicably.

“Merry Christmas🎄❤️,” the former Today host captioned her family selfie, which also featured her mother, sister, and her and Schiffman’s two daughters, Haley and Hope.

“I love how you and Joel are able to be together for your kids. What a great family you have!” one person commented. Another added, “This is beautiful! I wish my parents could have done this 50 years ago and be there for us kids instead of putting us the middle!”

In September, Kotb told Good Housekeeping that coparenting with Schiffman was going “good,” adding, “Joel is great. He works part-time in New York and part-time in Colorado, so he’s back and forth. But when he’s here, he walks the girls to school, and he comes over for dinner. So we have a great situation.”

The journalist left her position as anchor of the Today show in January, and has since been focused on her wellness brand and spending more time with the girls, whom she and Schiffman adopted in 2017 and 2019.

Kotb and Schiffman were together for nearly a decade before their split. They started dating in 2013 and got engaged in 2019 before breaking up at the end of 2021. Since the breakup, Kotb has not been in another serious relationship, although she’s given some dating updates over the past few years.

Back in May, Kotb confirmed to People that dating wasn’t a priority, as she was still adjusting to life in the suburbs with her daughters. “When it happens will be the time it’s supposed to happen,” she confirmed. “When things are supposed to end, they end. And when things are supposed to begin, they begin. But you have to be wide open because if you’re not, it’s not happening. So I think that chapter is yet to come, but I know it’s coming. And I’m excited for that chapter.”
