The past year has been a pivotal one for Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma (Braedyn Bruner). This General Hospital pairing has next-generation supercouple written all over them.
Once they shared their epic first kiss in September, Gio and Emma’s love story has been slowly building into something that has the potential to go the distance. With 2026 nearly here, what’s on the horizon for this Port Charles supercouple-in-training?
“Emma races to the rescue with Mac [Scorpio, John J. York] and Felicia [Jones, Kristina Wagner] when Anna is sighted. What happens next will prove traumatic for the Scorpios. Gio is there to support Emma when the stress finally catches up to her. Will they finally take their relationship to the next level?” co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, told TV Insider.
Gio and Emma certainly seem to be heading toward a pivotal moment in their relationship. The soap couple gave fans quite the treat with their sweet snow kiss just before Christmas.
Back when their characters locked lips for the first time, Bruner and Mazza opened up about Emma and Gia’s feelings for one another. “I think Emma’s attraction to Gio was [sparked] really early on. I think it’s probably been there the whole time,” Bruner told Soap Opera Digest back in September.
Mazza echoed Bruner’s comments and declared Gio and Emma were already “in love.” He continued, “That’s the new journey that we’re on. We’re flipping to the next chapter in our relationship.” At the time, Bruner hoped that Gio and Emma would become the “next big couple.”
In just a few months, Bruner’s hope has come true. Fans have certainly rallied around Gemma!
