What To Know

  • Lukas Gage stars alongside Zoey Deutch in Netflix’s upcoming rom-com Voicemails for Isabelle.
  • Gage described the movie as part of a nostalgic rom-com renaissance and gave Swooon an update on the film.
  • The film follows a woman who copes with her sister’s death by leaving voicemails on her old number.

After starring in Netflix’s People We Meet on Vacation, Lukas Gage is set to appear in yet another rom-com: Voicemails for Isabelle. Beyond both movies including him in the cast and coming from the same streaming service, the actor says they have something else in common.

“I think with People We Meet on Vacation and Voicemails for Isabelle, we’re in this rom-com renaissance that is what rom-coms used to be,” Gage told Swooon. “Like, Never Been Kissed and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, where it’s bringing back that nostalgic rom-com thing that we kind of shifted from a little bit, and now I think we’re back on course. The right rom-coms are back again. I’m telling you right now, these two movies are bangers.”

Gage filmed all of his scenes with Nick Offerman and Zoey Deutch, the latter of whom leads the film as a woman coping with her sister’s death by leaving her voicemails. She doesn’t know, however, that Isabelle’s phone number was reassigned to a real estate agent in New York, who receives all of Jill’s humorous and heartfelt messages.

People We Meet on Vacation already has its release date, but when will you be able to catch Gage and the rest of the cast in Voicemails for Isabelle? Swooon has all the latest updates about the premiere date, plot, and more below.
