What To Know

  • Due to Kendall Jenner’s private nature about her personal life, many fans have long suspected that she’s secretly a lesbian.
  • Jenner discussed the rumors for the first time in a new podcast interview.
  • She also revealed her current relationship status and made rare comments about her love life.

Even though Kendall Jenner has been on reality television since she was a preteen, she’s notoriously tight-lipped about her love life. Her private nature has even led to speculation that she may be a closeted lesbian, and Jenner is now addressing the rumors for the first time.

While appearing on the In Your Dreams podcast, Jenner told host Owen Thiele that she came to the interview “wanting” to talk about the rumor.

The supermodel said she is not gay. “As of today, I am not,” Jenner shared. “I don’t think I will be, but I’m not closing doors to, like, experiences in life.”

Jenner admitted that the speculation “bothers” her because of “how mean people are about it.” She explained, “It’s not with a welcoming arm. Like, ‘Hey, if you were, yes, come join.’ It’s not kind. It’s very mean. It’s very, like, ‘Hey, what the f**k are you doing?'”

The Kardashians star noted that “coming out is not an easy thing for anybody,” but said she thinks that if she were gay, she would have told people by now. “Knowing myself, I think at this point in my life, I’d be out if I was,” Jenner shared. “I’m not saying it’s an easy thing, I’m just saying knowing me, and knowing how I would want to live my life, I would be. I’d have no problem being that.”

She pointed out that the “narrative” online is that she’s “hiding” the truth about her sexuality because it would be “bad for business” if she were gay. “What?” Jenner wondered. “How? I just don’t understand it.”

To conclude the conversation, she reiterated, “I promise that if I was [gay], I think you would probably know for real.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Jenner confirmed that she’s currently single. She addressed her past love life, noting that she was in “a few long term, consistent relationships [all] near each other.” While she didn’t name names, she pointed out that she didn’t have a chance to be “independent” in her 20s, adding that she’s focusing on herself now.

“I’m actually super in a me era right now,” Jenner, who turned 30 in November, said. “I know that might sound corny and not what you wanted to hear or what anyone wanted to hear. But when I turned 29, I had a crash out about turning 30.” She explained that once she turned 29, she made a “minor commitment” to herself.

“I’m not going to reject anything,” Jenner insisted. “I’m going to stay open to anything that feels like it would suit me. But I really wanted to have a me year where I chose myself.”
