During Season 2 of Tell Me Lies, Evan, portrayed by Branden Cook, started dating Molly, a friend of Diana’s (Alicia Crowder) from her sorority. Since Molly is part of the student council’s disciplinary board, she became a key player in the allegations against Chris (Jacob Rodriguez) throughout the season.

It’s currently unclear when Branden Cook and Katherine Hughes met. However, it is clear that the couple had been dating long before Hughes joined the Tell Me Lies cast. Their social media interactions go all the way back to 2021, so we’d assume their relationship started around five years ago. In 2024, Hughes posted a special shoutout to Cook on social media, writing, “My person is part of a beautiful new series and im v proud of him!!! Jan 26 ✈️,” to celebrate his role in Masters of the Air.

When did Branden Cook and Katherine Hughes get engaged?

On October 20, 2025, Hughes dropped what fans called “the most lowkey engagement drop of all time,” with a photo dump from their trip to Japan. In the second photo, Hughes put together multiple photo booth photos that she took with Cook on their trip, kissing and showing off her new engagement ring. In the caption, she simply wrote, “🔒🖤🇯🇵.”

During Season 2 of Tell Me Lies, Evan and Molly briefly dated.
