Who is Teyana Taylor’s boyfriend?
Taylor’s most recent boyfriend was Aaron Pierre, an actor who has starred in projects such as Mufasa: The Lion King, Krypton, and The Morning Show.
The two were first linked in February 2025 when she appeared in now-deleted photos from the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala on his social media account. The following month, they attended the Vanity Fair Oscars Party together and posted photos with one another on Instagram. Taylor and Pierre finally went Instagram official in June, shortly after he starred in her music video for “Long Time.”

It’s unclear exactly when these two started dating or how they met.
In December 2025, Page Six reported that Taylor and Pierre had split after less than a year together. She did not mention him in her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes.
Why did Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert Split?
After tying the knot in 2016, Taylor and Shumpert separated in 2023. That September, Taylor confirmed in a now-deleted social media post that she and her husband had been separated for “a while.”
She also told fans that infidelity was not “one of the reasons for our departure,” and insisted that they were still “best friends” and “great business partners.”
In November 2023, it was revealed that Taylor had actually secretly filed for divorce 10 months earlier. In her filing, Taylor accused Shumpert of being jealous of her fame and claimed he was “insecure” about her success, per documents obtained by TMZ. Taylor claimed that the pro athlete was “treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.”
She accused Shumpert of being “emotionally and mentally abusive” and said she first began the divorce process in 2021. After a reconciliation, she filed divorce papers in 2022, but withdrew them one day later. Her January 2023 filing came after she was “unable to handle the emotional rollercoaster” any longer.
Despite publicly claiming that infidelity did not cause the marriage to end, Taylor alleged that Shumpert was involved in “multiple cheating scandals” during their relationship, per TMZ.
Why did Teyana Taylor have to pay Iman Shumpert?
In August 2025, Taylor was ordered to pay her ex-husband $70,000 after being found in contempt of court, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.
Taylor and Shumpert both accused each other of disrespecting the court’s orders in their divorce case, claiming the other leaked information about the divorce to the press. They appeared in front of a judge in July, and the court denied that Shumpert was in contempt, with a judge noting that Taylor did not “present sufficient evidence” to support her claims.

Meanwhile, Shumpert claimed that Taylor was the one who violated their divorce agreement by posting an Instagram video with information about the judgment in March 2025. The court found Taylor in contempt for this, but denied Shumpert’s request for her to be found in contempt for his claims that she violated their parenting plan.
“If it’s gonna give me my peace and we can be done with this for good, I sent that wire so fast,” Taylor said on The Breakfast Club in August 2025. “I sent that wire so f**king fast.” She also referred to the $70,000 as “the best lil’ coin I ever spent in my life.”
Does Teyana Taylor have kids?
Yes, Taylor and Shumpert share two children. Their first daughter, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., was born in December 2015, just one month after they got engaged. Junie was born a month early, and Shumpert delivered her on the family’s bathroom floor.
In September 2020, Taylor gave birth to the pair’s second child, another baby girl named Rue Rose.
