‘Slo Pitch’: Everything We Know About Crave’s Lesbian Softball Series
What To Know
- Slo Pitch is an upcoming queer comedy series.
- It comes from Canadian streaming service Crave, which is behind Heated Rivalry.
- It follows an underdog lesbian softball team.
We’re calling it now: Crave is about to have another home run on its hands. The Canadian streaming service is behind the gay hockey romance that’s currently taking over the internet, and it’s set to deliver yet another queer sports series this year. The upcoming comedy Slo Pitch, from Elliot Page’s PAGEBOY Productions, will see a lesbian softball team take center stage.
That was already more than enough to entice us, but we got even more excited when we discovered that Slo Pitch has a few more things in common with Heated Rivalry. Though it’s not romance-centric, it’s got the rivals element, with the main character’s ex playing on an opposing team. Both shows also share an actor: Nadine Bhabha, who stars as Kip’s (Robbie G.K.) bestie Elena in Heated Rivalry, is a guest star and writer on Slo Pitch.

When is Slo Pitch‘s release date?
While you wait for Heated Rivalry Season 2, you can binge Slo Pitch. The series will come out on Crave sometime in 2026. It was filmed in October 2025.
What is Slo Pitch about?
Based on the short form series of the same name, Slo Pitch is a mockumentary with 10 half-hour episodes about a queer, underdog slo pitch softball team. The six-time league losers, called The Public Lass Brovaries, are led by their dedicated coach, Joanne Pico. After her girlfriend and co-founder of the team dumps her, Joanne becomes determined to lead her team to victory.
The show follows The Public Lass Brovaries over the course of a summer, with its logline teasing “strikeouts, petty rivalries, conservative-politician sponsors, and sexy carwash fundraisers gone wrong. It’s time to win the breakup, get the gang back together, and maybe even find new love over beers in the dugout.”
Who is in the Slo Pitch cast?
The series stars Frasier and The Boys actress Jess Salgueiro as Joanne. Also in main roles are Karen Knox, Gwenlyn Cumyn, Emma Hunter, and Emily Hampshire.
Slo Pitch also has a number of guest stars lined up. Beyond Bhabha, Varun Saranga, Laura De Carteret, and Don MacLean Jr. will appear, along with comedians Carolyn Taylor, Chris Locke, and Chris Sandiford. Japanese softball pitcher Ayami Sato, who is the first woman to play in a Canadian men’s professional baseball league, will also make a cameo.
Behind the scenes, Shaftesbury is producing the series in association with Boss & Co. and PAGEBOY Productions. Slo Pitch was created by J. Stevens, Knox, and Cumyn, and it’s been developed for TV by Katie Ford and Jane Cooper Ford.
Will Slo Pitch be available to stream in the U.S.?
This was the big question everyone had before Heated Rivalry got its U.S. distribution deal with HBO Max. Per a press release, the series is set to be distributed internationally by Shaftesbury, though what streaming service it’ll land on remains to be seen.
Is there a Slo Pitch trailer?
