Are Paul Mescal & Gracie Abrams Still Together? What to Know About Their Romance
Paul Mescal had a big night at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 11, when his film Hamnet took home the award for Best Motion Picture – Drama. The actor celebrated the win onstage with the cast and crew of the movie, but his girlfriend, Gracie Abrams, wasn’t in the audience cheering him on.
While Mescal and Abrams have been notoriously private about their relationship, her absence had fans questioning the status of their romance today. Scroll down for everything we know about what’s going on.
Are Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal still together?
Yes, Abrams and Mescal are still very much together. In fact, even though she didn’t join him at the Golden Globes, they linked up for an after-party following the show. The two were seen holding hands as they exited a vehicle and headed inside an event at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
The “Close to You” singer also celebrated her man’s big night by posting a photo of an envelope that confirmed Hamnet’s win on her Instagram Story. Plus, she shared an image of Mescal and her younger brother, who were celebrating the awards show win and a birthday, respectively.

When did Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal start dating?
Abrams and Mescal were first linked in June 2024 when TMZ obtained photos of them at a restaurant in London. Subsequent sightings that summer seemingly confirmed the relationship, but Mescal was adamant in interviews that he was keeping details about his personal life private moving forward.
“Giving strangers an answer about my life doesn’t actually help me,” the Normal People star told Vanity Fair in February 2023, following his breakup from Phoebe Bridgers.
He reiterated this in an interview with GQ the following year, telling the mag, “[I’ve] learned that there’s certain lines in the sand now for me that just are going to be impenetrable for the benefit of my own sanity. The speculation has been kind of mad for the last x amount of years. I’m not comfortable inviting any access into that part of my life.”
In November 2024, Abrams joined Mescal at the premiere of Gladiator II. Although they did not walk the red carpet together (they still have not done so more than a year later), they posed for photos together inside the event.
The pair hard-launched their relationship on Instagram in June 2025, but Mescal refused to answer questions about why he was ready to do so. “Everything to do with that is deeply precious to me, and I don’t want to. … This isn’t … I don’t really … umm … I want to protect those things fundamentally,” he told Rolling Stone in September 2025.
