Kardea Brown is the new official host of Kids Baking Championship for Season 13, replacing Valerie Bertinelli after the latter’s contract with Food Network ended in 2022. After previously hosting some Baking Championship specials, Brown is now Duff Goldman‘s permanent cohost.
Since making her Food Network debut in 2015, Brown has been sharing her life with fans. She had her own Food Network show, Delicious Miss Brown, from 2019 to 2020, and has since appeared on various programs, while also steadily updating her social media with cooking content.

Is Kardea Brown married?
Yes, Brown married her husband, Bryon Smith, in Mexico in March 2025. There were 85 people in attendance at the beachside wedding.
Brown grew up in a single-parent household and admitted that she didn’t think she’d ever get married until she met her now-husband. “It wasn’t until I met Bryon where I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, this is the man of my dreams. I would love to be a bride. I would love to be a wife,'” she told People. “It was meeting him that kind of gave me that inspiration to be a wife.”
Brown and Smith first met in 2016. After casually dating for a bit, they went their separate ways. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, they were both quarantining in Atlanta, which is how they reconnected in March 2020.
“My mom mentioned him and said, ‘Hey, that guy you used to date, how’s he doing?'” Brown recalled. They got engaged on New Year’s Day 2023.
In January, Brown told TV Insider that she and Smith are still in the “newlywed phase” of their marriage. “It has been really great,” she shared.
Who is Kardea Brown’s husband?
Little is known about Smith, and he does not appear to have a public Instagram account. However, Brown confirmed to TV Insider that her husband is her brand manager.
“You kind of have to like someone a lot to be with them all the time,” she explained. “We really are best friends. I tell everyone he calms my nervous system. He is like the best person to have around. I’m very happy to do life with him.”
Does Kardea Brown have kids?
No, Brown does not have any children yet. However, she has nieces and nephews, and loves being an aunt right now.
“I don’t have children of my own yet….but I certainly enjoy the role of Auntie!” Brown wrote in a 2020 Facebook post. “Aunts just make life a little sweeter…..literally lol. I’m having my babies over for Milkshakes and Cookies this Sunday.”
After tying the knot with Smith, she confirmed to People that she’s already thinking about starting a family with her husband. “I want the kids and all of that that comes with it,” Brown gushed, also adding, “We are most excited about potentially having our family, growing a family, having children. We have our fur baby, Rhubarb, but we would definitely love to expand our family and have children.”
