Yes, Kelly revealed she underwent in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive the twins. On the Give Them Lala podcast, she said she and Matthew were trying to conceive for a year and a half before trying IVF.

In March 2025, they attended an event for infertility awareness and Kelly wrote on Instagram, “Even though it’s been years since our own experience with infertility, it’s a community you belong to forever. 1 in 6 couples struggle to conceive but as a society we still have a long ways to go in raising awareness and having open conversations about it.”

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t completely terrified of brain surgery. I am,” she admitted at the time. “I am terrified of them opening my head, I’m terrified of losing my hearing, I’m terrified of losing facial function, I’m terrified of far worse things that could happen and I’m terrified that I won’t take the time I need to recover because the guilt I might feel of being absent from my kids for too long.. I am telling y’all this to ask for prayers and support.”
The WAG had her surgery in April 2019. She revealed in an Instagram post that her neurosurgeon noticed an “abnormal vein” in her brain. Luckily, he had “seen it before and written a paper on it.” Her six-hour surgery ended up taking 12 hours.
In a subsequent post, Kelly described her painful recovery, which included not being able to keep anything down, including her medicine.
