‘Before the 90 Days’: Are Sheena’s Parents Actually Scamming Forrest?

After convincing his parents that he needed to meet Sheena’s parents on his own, Forrest finally travelled to Sheena’s family’s home.
Throughout Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Forrest and Sheena have been very candid about their financial struggles. According to Forrest and his mother, Molly, he has sent money to Sheena in the past for her to save for their future together, and she gave the money to her family instead. As he told Sheena’s family during their first dinner together, “My mom’s under the impression that I might be walking into a scam.” Even so, he had to admit, “So far, they’re definitely not the evil dragons I imagined.”

Who are Sheena’s family members?
When Forrest arrived to meet Sheena’s family, who run a bed and breakfast out of their house, he explained to viewers, “Oh man, ever since I met Sheena seven years ago, her family has been like these ominous figures. She’s told me that they manipulate and exploit her financially.” He continued, “I’ve always pictured this meeting as me putting my foot down and letting them know that Sheena is going to completely cut them off financially.”
At their house, Forrest met Sheena’s father, Steve, and her sister, Katrina. According to Sheena, her mother is sick, so Forrest could not meet her on this trip.

Why does Forrest think Sheena’s family is scamming him?
In previous episodes, Forrest has shared that Sheena has felt pressure to give her family the money he had given her to save for their future. He explained that he was “under the impression that her family might be desolate or they are going to starve without her.”
Is Sheena’s family scamming Forrest?
Right now, it’s unclear if Sheena’s family is actively scamming Forrest, but it’s clear that something doesn’t add up. Forrest was under the impression that Sheena’s family was struggling, but their bed and breakfast implies anything but that. He told viewers, “I’ve heard over and over again that they need the money to fix this roof. Oh, they need money to do this. Oh, they need money to do this. That’s why they’re stealing all this money from me. But it turns out that this is a nice, fancy place.”
While Forrest got her father’s blessing, Forrest revealed, “I should be happy that I got their blessing, but I feel like Sheena hasn’t been 100% honest with me. What I’ve seen, it’s not the same as what I’ve been hearing for the last seven years.”
With Forrest’s mother on her way to Sheena’s parents’ house, Forrest is certain that she’s going to “flip out.” While we’re still waiting for the full truth about the situation to come out, it’s clear that Sheena and Forrest have a long way to go before the end of the season!
