‘Finding Her Edge’ Cast Teases Heated Love Stories & Icy Challenges in New Netflix Series

For Adriana Russo, skating is the closest she’s come to experiencing real-life magic. Unfortunately, she hasn’t felt that magic in years.

Netflix’s newest teen love story, Finding Her Edge, premieres on January 22. Starring Madelyn KeysFinding Her Edge follows Adriana, the middle of three heirs to her parents’ ice-skating legacy. When Adriana’s former partner and first crush, Freddie (Olly Atkins), returns to Russo Rink with a new partner, Adriana turns to a new partnership with Brayden (Cale Ambrozic). Struggling to keep their rink afloat, Adriana and Brayden pretend to be a couple off the ice so they can land a sponsorship.

Ahead of the premiere, the Finding Her Edge leads sat down with Swooon to give viewers the ultimate elevator pitch for Season 1 of the new series, letting fans of The Summer I Turned PrettyMy Life with the Walter Boys, and more epic YA love triangles know why they should tune in.

Ambrozic, who plays Adriana’s hot new partner Brayden, got the ball rolling by revealing, “I think it’s a story of who you’re expected to be and who you want to be as a person.” He teased, “It hits [the feels] without being too daunting, which is a really beautiful thing.”

“I’m gonna say that it is a show that a lot of people can get a lot from,” Keys teased. “Maybe from what you’ve seen so far, you might assume that this is a show exclusively for teen girls.” Keys explained that while they love the target demographic of Jennifer Iacopelli’s novel by the same name, the Netflix show is for everyone. She shared, “I think there is something for everybody, and I would love it if you tuned in as a family and see what each person can get from the show.”

For Atkins, who plays Adriana’s former partner, Freddie, “It’s about life, it’s about love, it’s about challenge, it’s about hardship.” Atkins revealed to Swooon, “It really is sort of encompassing of so many things that each and every one of us goes through and gets to experience in this life. It’s certainly worth watching.”
