Why did Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher divorce?

In October 2011, a woman named Sara Leal came forward and claimed Kutcher cheated on Moore with her. The following month, Moore announced her and Kutcher’s separation. She hinted at the infidelity allegations being the reason for the split in her statement: “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother, and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”

While Kutcher has not commented on the cheating rumors, Moore went in-depth about them in her 2019 memoir Inside Out, while promoting the book. She said she found out about Leal’s allegations via a Google Alert, after which she called Kutcher and asked him if the news was true.

“[He] admitted it right away,” she shared. “And I think my response was, ‘Are you f**king kidding me?’ That was it. And I think I could barely take a breath.”

Moore revealed that Kutcher justified his cheating because they had threesomes during their relationship. “I put him first, so when he expressed his fantasy of bringing a third person into our bed, I didn’t say no,” she admitted. “I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be.”

However, she said this was later used against her. “Because we had brought in a third party into our relationship, Ashton said, that blurred the lines and, to some extent, justified what he’s done,” the actress added.
