Netflix’s newest teen drama, Finding Her Edge, follows Adriana Russo (Keys), an ice dancer who returns to the sport to keep her family’s struggling ice rink (and legacy) afloat. Who is Madelyn Keys?
Keys is a 24-year-old Canadian actress, writer, and director who has been performing since the age of 10. Before Finding Her Edge, Keys previously starred in Lifetime’s A Mother’s Lie.
Also a screenwriter, Keys earned an Outstanding Achievement Award for her amateur film script “Eavesdrop” at the 2021 Tagore International Film Festival. At the time she wrote, “Been focusing hard on developing myself as a writer and it’s starting to pay off! Thanks to everyone who reads my scripts incessantly no matter what. Love you.”

Who does Madelyn Keys play in Finding Her Edge?
Keys plays the series lead, Adriana Russo, in Finding Her Edge. Netflix writes, “Adriana is the middle sister of the Russo skating dynasty. She’s scrappy, determined, and resilient, with the weight of the world on her shoulders and a latent fire in her belly waiting to be unleashed when she returns to the ice.”
Is Madelyn Keys related to Jennifer Lawrence?
No, despite fan speculation, Madelyn Keys is not related to Jennifer Lawrence. As soon as the first Finding Her Edge promotional photos dropped, fans began to point out that the show’s leading lady looks quite a bit like The Hunger Games-era JLaw.
On January 9, Keys posted a photo with Lawrence from a few years ago. She wrote, “The comparison on everyone’s minds! We have, in fact, been spotted in the same room at the same time.” She previously posted the photo in 2019, writing, “From being invited in 2013 to working on set in 2017, thank you #xmen.”

In an exclusive interview with Swooon, Keys revealed that The Hunger Games is her favorite love triangle outside of Finding Her Edge. While she is keenly Team Katniss (Lawrence), she made it clear that when it comes to the guys, she’s Team Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) all the way.
