What To Know

  • Single’s Inferno is a Netflix Korean reality dating show.
  • It’s aired for four seasons, with some couples continuing their romances and others parting ways after filming.

Single’s Inferno is one Korea’s longest-running reality dating shows, and it’s seen plenty of participants find connections during filming. But similar to its counterparts Love Island and Too Hot to Handle, not every relationship formed on the show lasts in the outside world. While they might have thrived on Inferno island and in Paradise, only a few pairs actually pursued a relationship once cameras stopped rolling.

Now that Season 5 is in full swing — let us know who you’re rooting for in the comments section at the end of the page — Swooon decided to check on Single’s Inferno‘s success rate. Since the show started in 2021, which participants have stayed together after coupling up on the show? Which ones didn’t last? Get the latest updates below.

Single’s Inferno Season 1

Song Ji-a and Kim Hyeon-Joong

Ji-a and Hyeon-Joong may have left the show together, but they didn’t last on the outside. Shortly after their exit from the show, fans noticed that Hyeon-Joong had unfollowed Ji-a on Instagram, per Koreaboo. He explained that they we’re still friend and there was no ill will behind it — he noticed she wasn’t following him and decided to follow suit to prevent rumors from circulating.

“Because of the ongoing situation, I had an even harder time reaching out to her. Even right now, in this moment as I talk about it, it’s really hard. However, what I can say is that the Ji A I got to know is a kind and bright friend who works extremely hard,” he said. “We have remained on friendly terms and even in the middle of the airing of the show, we contacted each other here and there.”

Kang So-Yeon and Oh Jin-Taek

Many fans thought So-Yeon and Jin-Taek were still together a month after filming when Jin-Taek gave a cryptic response about their relationship status: “So many people ask me the same question. Kang So Yeon is someone I always wanted to meet,” he said, according to Koreaboo. However, any hopes of a romance between the two were lost when he was linked to PR agent Lily Baek in 2023.

Jin-Taek appears to still hold So-Yeon in a high regard years later, per a March 2025 interview with K-Africa Mag. “Since the first time I met So-Yeon in Single’s Inferno, my choice was So-Yeon. If I appeared on Single’s Inferno again and So-Yeon appeared in the same way, I would make the same choice,” he said.

Moon Se-hoon and Shin Je-yoon

Je-yoon and Se-hoon also didn’t last off-screen. Se-hoon sparked breakup rumors about a month after the season dropped, saying that he was unable to “define” his relationship with his costar (NME), and the speculation officially ended in March 2022. They appeared in a vlog together, in which Je-yoon confirmed her single status.

Kim Jun-sik and An Yea-won

Busy schedules seemingly got in the way of Jun-sik and Yea-won pursuing a relationship off-screen. “The situation wasn’t like where I could meet him after my work and stuff. We did meet up a few times and kept each other updated, so we decided to stay good friends,” Yea-won said shortly after the season aired, according to Koreaboo.

Single’s Inferno Season 2

Jo Yoong-jae and Choi Seo-eun

Yoong-jae and Seo-eun shared photos together and hosted a joint meet-and-greet for fans post-show, according to the Straits Times. Per a January 2023 article from Koreaboo, Yoong-jae even said, “I hope so,” in response to a fan asking if he would marry Seo-eun.

However, they haven’t appeared in any recent Instagram posts together, which leaves their relationship timeline and status unclear.

Kim Se-Jun and Lee So-e

After leaving the island hand-in-hand, fans noticed Se-Jun and So-e interacting on social media quite a bit, per Marie Claire, but they didn’t stay together long afterward. About a month after the season aired, Showbiz Cheatsheet reported that Se-Jun saw So-e more as a “younger sibling.”

Shin Seul Ki and Choi Jong Woo

Jong Woo posted some photo-booth strips of himself and his Single’s Inferno partner shortly after Season 2’s premiere, but they appear not to have stayed together after the show. Neither Seul Ki or Jong Woo publicly shared if they had a relationship off-screen.

Lee Gwan-hee and Choi Hye-seon

It didn’t take long for Gwan-hee and Hy-seon to shut down off-screen romance rumors. On January 20, Gwan-hee shared a YouTube video video explaining that they’d called it quits due to distance. He was playing basketball in Korea, while Hye-seon was planning on going to university in England.

AsiaOne reported that he said, “First of all, I want to tell you that we are not a couple.” They stayed in touch after filming, but Gwan-hee decided he wanted to be “in a relationship where I can meet the person every day.”

Choi Min-woo and Yu Si-eun

In the weeks post-show drop, Min-woo and Si-eun shared photos together and fan edits of their showmance, but they never spoke out about whether they were still together or broken up. They still follow each other on Instagram.

Park Min-kyu and Kim Gyu-ri

Gyu-ri picked Min-kyu in the finale, and they didn’t address where they stood post-show. However, they don’t follow each other on Instagram, so it’s safe to assume they aren’t together.

Lee Jin-seok and An Min-young

Shortly after Season 3 aired, Jin-seok told the Korean news outlet Osen: “We had good feelings for each other, but since Min-young and I are doing our own business, we are not currently seeing each other because we are focusing on our own work. We are doing well with good feelings.”

Single’s Inferno Season 4

Kim A-rin and Kook Dong-ho

When Dong-ho liked and left comments on A-rin’s Instagram after the show aired, fans wondered if their romance lasted off-screen, but nothing was ever confirmed by the two.

When he appeared on the variety show The Manager, Jun-seo said they were no longer together, per Koreaboo. He even said that they felt more like “brother and sister.”

Kim Tae-hwan and Bae Ji-yeon

Tae-hwan and Ji-yeon never revealed if they pursued a relationship off-screen, but they weren’t spotted together after the show dropped. In January 2025, Ji-yeon responded to the fact that Single’s Inferno host Dex liked her during the show, saying, “Thank you for liking me. I’m waiting here.” So, odds are she and Tae-hwan parted ways once filming wrapped.

An Jong-hoon and Kim Hye-jin

Jong-hoon and Hye-jin also haven’t revealed if anything happened between them off-screen. Per Stylecaster, Jong-hoon wrote in 2025 recap post, “I appeared in a program called Single’s Inferno and I got to do it a little bit. There are some unfortunate points, but looking back, it seems like it was a good experience.”
