[Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for Finding Her Edge Season 1 and the novel Finding Her Edge by Jennifer Iacopelli.]
Braydriana fans, be warned! This is one book-to-screen adaptation fans are dying to see take on a different ending.
Finding Her Edge Season 1 premiered on January 22, and viewers are already eager for a second season of the teen skating drama. At the end of the first season, which is based on a book by the same title by Jennifer Iacopelli, Adriana Russo (Madelyn Keys) starts dating her former partner and first crush, Freddie O’Connell (Olly Atkins), despite having entered into a fake relationship with her current partner, Brayden Elliot (Cale Ambrozic).
Ahead of any Season 2 announcement, fans have already flooded our comments to share that they are eager to see Brayden as Adriana’s boyfriend, not Freddie. As one fan put it, “Definitely need season 2, Adriana and Brayden have way more passion together than Adriana and Freddie do!” Another shared, “Yes, we want a season two!!! need to see the tension and angst from adriana and brayden.”
While we can’t offer any insight into the plot of Season 2 just yet, Swooon‘s breaking down everything you need to know about Jennifer Iacopelli’s novel, including who Adriana ends up with in the book.
Does Adriana end up with Brayden or Freddie in the book?
Finding Her Edge is based on Persuasion by Jane Austen, in which — spoiler alert! — the leading lady, Anne, ends up with Frederick Wentworth (Freddie) after turning down the romantic advances of William Elliot (Brayden). Much like the Austen novel, Iacopelli’s novel ends with Adriana choosing her old flame over her new suitor. Unlike the end of the first season of the adaptation, Adriana remains Brayden’s partner on the ice. This separates her professional and romantic relationships.

Who does Adriana choose at the end of Season 1?
At the end of Season 1 of Finding Her Edge, Adriana chooses Freddie, much like she does in the book. When Brayden finds out that Adriana has chosen to be with Freddie, Brayden abandons her ahead of their final skate as world champions. He later commits to skating with Freddie’s partner, Riley Monroe (Millie Davis), next season, leaving Adriana and Freddie to return to their former partnership. As Elliot told Swooon, “Brayden loves his revenge.”
Is Finding Her Edge part of a book series?
While we wish we could find out what will happen during Finding Her Edge Season 2, the adaptation is based on a standalone novel. This means that Season 2 of the TV series will likely be a departure from the plot laid out by Persuasion and the original novel. While this could mean a win for Braydriana fans, we’re eager to find out what this will mean for Adriana and Freddie’s new relationship and partnership.
Be sure to vote in Swooon‘s Brayden or Freddie poll to let us know who you want to see Adriana end up with in Season 2 and beyond!
