[Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for Finding Her Edge Season 1 and the novel Finding Her Edge by Jennifer Iacopelli.]

A good portion of Finding Her Edge fans have been up in arms ever since Adriana (Madelyn Keys) ditched her ice dancing partner, Brayden (Cale Ambrozic), for her former partner and first boyfriend, Freddie (Olly Atkins) — professionally and romantically. Adriana’s choice has only made Team Brayden hopefuls even more eager for a second season, especially since she and Freddie would be competing against Brayden and Freddie’s former partner, Riley (Millie Davis).

Though Netflix has yet to confirm another season of the teen drama, fans can tide themselves over by reading Jennifer Iacopelli’s book of the same name, which Season 1 is based on. Currently, the author has only put out one book about Adriana, Brayden, and Freddie’s love triangle, but is there a sequel in the works? After all, Season 1 leaves viewers on a major cliffhanger. Swooon has all the latest updates below.

How does the Finding Her Edge book end?

First things first: Does Ariana end up with Freddie in the book like she does in Season 1? We hate to break it to the Braydriana shippers, but yes. However, the adaptation strays from the source material when it ends Brayden and Adriana’s on-ice partnership. In the book, they continue competing together, despite Adriana’s choice. She separates her work and personal life at the end of the book, but the TV show puts Adriana in a significantly messier predicament.

The book also has an epilogue set four years later: Freddie and Riley win gold in Milan, while Adriana and Brayden earn silver. Adriana and Freddie’s relationship doesn’t dim their competitiveness, making them both rivals and lovers.

Will there be a Finding Her Edge sequel?

Iacopelli doesn’t appear to have shared any plans to write a sequel to the first book, which was published in 2022. Should the show be renewed for Season 2, it would likely depart from its source material and create a whole new story for Adriana. We imagine that it would draw out the love triangle. Would Freddie remain Adriana’s endgame? Only time will tell.

While a Finding Her Edge sequel book is up in the air, the author does have a new romance out in February — a tennis romance titled Game, Set, Match.
