Who Is EJAE Engaged To? Inside the ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Singer’s Love Life
Kim Eun-jae, known professionally as EJAE, has been pursuing a music career for years, and in 2025, she had her breakthrough with the success of KPop Demon Hunters. EJAE not only provided the singing voice for Rumi in the Netflix film, but she also cowrote several songs on the soundtrack, including the acclaimed “Golden,” which is nominated for four Grammy Awards.
Now that EJAE is very much in the public eye, she’s been slowly giving fans a glimpse into her love life, which includes her current relationship. Scroll down for everything we know.
Who is EJAE engaged to?
EJAE is engaged to Sam Kim, a music producer. The two reportedly got engaged at some point toward the end of 2023, but EJAE did not share photos from the day Sam proposed until January 2026.
In an Instagram dump that she captioned, “Memories,” EJAE included a photo of Sam down on one knee, asking her to marry him. He appeared to have set up a picnic blanket with flowers and other memorabilia at the site where he popped the question.
There was also a photo of a chocolate cake that said, “Happy engajimint Sam + EJAY.”
How did EJAE and Sam Kim meet?
EJAE met Sam during a songwriting session in 2017. “He was basically my songwriting buddy, and we met during a session in 2017. We truly grew up together,” she told Vulture.
It’s unclear exactly how long Sam and EJAE started dating after that, but she recently told Z100 that they once took a “really healthy” and “intentional” break in their relationship, which inspired her song “In Another World.”
“During this time … I needed some space to reassess,” she explained. “It was like, if we were to part ways, what’s a way to cope with that? And for me, it was just knowing that, maybe just in this lifetime, it was just not meant for us. The trauma and the baggage that we had caused the resentment, so it’s not you or me that caused the issue. It’s just accepting that, and the whole idea of infinite realities took a lot of the weight off.”
When is EJAE getting married?
For the most part, EJAE has kept details about her wedding under wraps. However, she did spill in a November 2025 interview with 104.3 MYfm that she’s getting married “next year” in the “fall,” which means she’ll be walking down the aisle at some point toward the end of 2026.
In the same interview, EJAE confirmed that she still didn’t have her wedding dress yet. In fact, she said she was too focused on outfits for the Grammys and Oscars to worry about what she would be wearing to her wedding!
