A Guide to ‘ANTM’ Alum Nigel Barker’s Family: His Wife Cristen Chin & Their Kids
While Nigel Barker has done so much throughout his career in the fashion industry, he’s mostly known for his role as a photographer and judge on America’s Next Top Model. He worked on the show alongside Tyra Banks from Season 2 to 18.
Barker will be reminiscing about his time on ANTM in the upcoming Netflix docuseries Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model. While his personal life was never part of the show, Barker was building a family of his own as ANTM took off in the early 2000s. Scroll down to learn more about his wife and kids below.
Who is Nigel Barker’s wife?
Barker’s wife is Cristen Chin. She and her twin sister, Kimberly, are wellness influencers who are known as the ChinTwins online. They are models, dancers, and certified yoga instructors. “With ChinTwins, we hope to awaken that connection that unites us all by shining a light on the truth that exists within each and every one of us,” their website says.
Chin began her career as a model in the 1990s. Amid her relationship with Barker, she began working behind the scenes as a makeup artist, and even did some work for ANTM as a guest judge makeup artist on the show. She was also her husband’s makeup artist, of course.
Throughout the early 2000s, Chin worked on Lifetime’s makeover show, Next Stop New You, and was also a CoverGirl representative. She currently manages her and Barker’s photography business, while also dedicating herself to practicing and teaching yoga.
“As I practice and teach yoga my goal is to break through boundaries that keep us from knowing and sharing our true selves. Through self discovery we can spread our wings and fly to new heights,” her bio says.
How did Nigel Barker meet his wife?
Barker was 22 years old when he met Chin in Milan. At the time, they were both working as models and instantly hit it off. From there, they moved to Paris, then New York, where they are now settled. After about five years together, Barker and Chin married in 1999.
In an interview with Bustle, Barker credited Chin and her twin sister for why he pivoted his career from modeling to photography. “I first picked up a camera [because] I wanted to capture them and their beauty,” he admitted. “It became an obsession of mine, and it’s now been 30 years of these two people being my muse.”
How many kids does Nigel Barker have?
Barker and Chin have two children. Their son, Jack, was born in November 2005, followed by daughter Jasmine in December 2008.

Jack started school at Arizona State University in 2024 and is a designer, according to his Instagram bio. Meanwhile, Jasmine has followed in her parents’ footsteps and started a modeling career. She is also a competitive volleyball player.
