Young Sherlock marks the second time Hero Fiennes Tiffin has acted alongside one of his relatives. The 28-year-old landed his first big screen role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, playing the younger version of uncle Ralph Fiennes‘ Voldemort. Now, in Guy Ritchie‘s new series, uncle Joseph Fiennes appears as his onscreen father.
Hero acknowledges the role his last name has played in his career. “I don’t feel any sense of it getting my back up,” he told Tatler just ahead of Young Sherlock‘s debut. “I think it’s so fair. I would never be an actor if it wasn’t for my family being in the industry, and I’m extremely lucky that they were, and nepotism is the appropriate word for why I do what I do.”
Beyond Ralph and Joseph, the actor has a number of other high-profile family members, from his parents to his grandparents. Swooon has the complete guide to them, as well as Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s siblings, below.

Her debut film, 1999’s Onegin, starred her older brother, Ralph. Her other brother, Magnus, composed the music, and her sister, Sophie, also acted in it. Martha’s 2005 feature Chromophobia was a joint effort with her husband.
Since then, Martha has been working in “hybrid” film media, per her Cannes film festival bio, using AI-generated digital moving-image artworks. One such work, 2018’s “Yugen,” starred Salma Hayek.
George also works as a director, cameraman, screenwriter, and photographer. Per his website, he started out as a documentary filmmaker before focusing on drama films, commercials, and music videos.

Fellow actor Joseph, who started his career on stage, is best known for Shakespeare in Love, in which he starred opposite Gwyneth Paltrow. His nephew was eager to prove himself when they filmed Young Sherlock together, per Tatler.

Hero continued, “That name brings me to the table, I want to bring some of my own stuff to the table, too… But after working with Joe, I’ve definitely asked [for advice].”
Joseph is married to actress and model María Dolores Dieguez, with whom he shares daughters Eva and Isabel.

Unlike a fair amount of his siblings, Jacob doesn’t work in entertainment. He’s a wildlife conservationist. Per The Guardian, Jacob said that “[his] mother’s amazing skill was to encourage six very different individuals to express themselves in whatever way they felt suited them.”
