DeAnna Pappas had quite a chapter in the Bachelor Nation history books. After The Bachelor Season 11 lead Brad Womack made history as the first lead to reject his final two contestants, Pappas and Jenni Croft, Pappas went on to become The Bachelorette Season 4 star.
As her season of the show approaches its 20th anniversary, Pappas looked back at her second chance journey to find love on TV in a lengthy message. Womack, her Bachelor ex, surprised fans by commenting on Pappas’ post.
“Almost 20 years ago, I stepped out of the limo on The Bachelor thinking I knew exactly what love — and life — were supposed to look like,” Pappas began. “When I look back at that girl, I see so much hope. So much certainty. So many plans.”
She went on to say that “life won’t look the way you thought it would,” but it’ll be “fuller. Deeper. Harder. More beautiful. And you’re going to be more than okay — you’re going to be strong, grounded, and grateful for every twist in the road.” Pappas ended her post with, “To the girl I was: thank you for being brave enough to begin. To the woman I am: thank you for not giving up. ❤️ One day at a time.”

Womack was touched by Pappas’ honesty about her life and wrote to her, “I’m not sure if I even have the right to comment, but I feel compelled. The woman I met was already phenomenal: strong, grounded, centered, confident. For obvious reasons, I didn’t witness who you have become except from afar. From what I see, you have definitely evolved, & thank God you stayed true to yourself. It appears as if you grew like you wanted (& are still growing/evolving).”
He added, “I guess what I’m trying to say is you always had the foundation of being remarkable; I’m so happy to see how well your life has turned out. Looks like you’re definitely ‘OK.'”
Pappas saw her ex-boyfriend’s comment and replied to him, “Ahhhhhhh. Thank you Brad. 🤍🤍🤍 Going in the Bachelor…meeting you…changed the trajectory of my life. Thank you for always being kind.”
At the end of Pappas’ season, she got engaged to Jesse Csincsak, but their relationship didn’t last. She married Stephen Stagliano in 2011, and they have two children together. They separated in 2023.
Womack, who has never been married, went on to make Bachelor Nation history again when he returned as the lead for Season 15. His second time around, he did pick a winner: Emily Maynard. Womack and Maynard’s relationship was short-lived.
