‘Invincible’: Will Eve & Mark Have a Baby in Season 4? What the Comics Tell Us
What To Know
- In Episode 3 of Invincible Season 4, Eve is revealed to be pregnant.
- Invincible is based on the comic of the same name by Robert Kirkman.
- Swooon is breaking down if Eve and Mark have kids in the comic.
Invincible Season 4 only just premiered, but it doesn’t waste any time in dropping a few bombshells. Though it’s lacking in literal explosions — which fans know the superhero show offers plenty of — perhaps the biggest one of all arrived in Episode 3’s mid-credits scene. It could rock Mark (Steven Yeun) and Eve’s (Gillian Jacobs) world more than anything ever has. (Warning: Major spoilers for the Invincible Season 4 premiere ahead.)
In the final moments of “I Gotta Get Some Air,” Mark wakes up from a nightmare, and he notices that Eve isn’t in bed next to him. He goes to check on her on the bathroom, only for her to slam the door in his face. We find out why moments later: Eve is holding a positive pregnancy test. Presumably, it’s why her powers have been going haywire since the beginning of Season 4 — when her skills are more needed than ever.
Creator Robert Kirkman warned us that Mark and Eve weren’t in for an easy time in Season 4, despite being “at their closest.” He told Swooon, “And that’s really going to make what happens in Season 4 and the conflict that’s the center of it way more heightened because you really feel for these characters, and you want them to be happy, and you want them to be together, and they aren’t going to be.”
All of that being said, is Eve really pregnant in Season 4? A fair amount of viewers have taken to social media to discuss the development, with quite a few worrying about what it means for Eve’s storyline. We’re breaking down what happens in Kirkman’s comic, which the show is based on, below.
Is Eve really pregnant in Invincible Season 4?
If the show keeps in line with the comic, Eve is indeed pregnant, which she discovers in Invincible #68. She doesn’t tell Mark right away, and he leaves to fight with the Coalition of Planets in the Viltrumite War before she tells him. He’s gone for nearly a year afterward, and Eve operates Invincible Inc. in his absence.

Does Eve have Mark’s baby in the Invincible comic?
Yes and no. During the Viltrumite War, Eve thinks Mark has died, so she gets an abortion. Once Mark returns, she tells him what happened (Invincible #79). Mark apologizes for not being there for his girlfriend and they reconcile, their relationship returning to full strength.
Do Eve and Mark have kids in Invincible?
That brings us to why we said “yes and no.” While Eve doesn’t go through with her first pregnancy, she and Mark do become parents eventually. Eve shares that she’s pregnant again in Invincible #100, leading to their engagement a couple of issues later. They break up when Mark, obsessed with finding Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown), leaves pregnant Eve behind (Invincible #110). Their daughter, Terra, is born a little while later. (Don’t worry, though — Eve and Mark do get back together later.)
