The wait is over! Nathan (Kevin McGarry) finally popped the question to Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) in the When Calls the Heart Season 13 finale, but now we have a new question: Will Nathan and Elizabeth tie the knot in Season 14? (Warning: Spoilers for the When Calls the Heart Season 13 finale below!)
For several episodes, Nathan had been making plans to ask Elizabeth to marry him. Every time he tried to do it, the timing just wasn’t right. After the latest Hope Valley celebration, Elizabeth and Nathan took a moment for themselves and climbed to the top of the water tower.
That’s when Nathan knew this was the moment to propose. “You’re like silver,” he told Elizabeth. “You reflect back the best in anyone lucky enough to stand in your light.” He then pulled out a silver ring. “I wanted four stones. One for each of us because we’re a family,” Nathan said, also referring to Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller) and Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich).
He asked Elizabeth to walk with him “through this valley for the rest of our days.” Elizabeth kissed Nathan, and he quickly brought up how she hadn’t officially accepted yet. “Yeah, but I was gonna,” Elizabeth sweetly said before they kissed again.
From the very beginning of the season, Hearties knew an engagement was on the horizon for Elizabeth and Nathan. Ever since Elizabeth and Nathan officially got together at the end of Season 11, When Calls the Heart had been building to this moment. Nathan even asked Charlotte Thornton (Brooke Shields) for her blessing and visited Jack’s grave to promise that he’ll always take care of Elizabeth and Little Jack.
With Season 14 already confirmed, we can’t help but wonder if the season will revolve around planning the nuptials. Obviously, Elizabeth and Nathan’s wedding would be quite the celebration for Hope Valley. And with Abigail (Lori Loughlin) coming back into the fold, this seems like the most likely scenario.
However, When Calls the Heart could take its sweet time with Elizabeth and Nathan’s wedding and just have them bask in their engagement glow for a while. Regardless of when the wedding will take place, you know Rosemary’s (Pascale Hutton) already working on her mood boards.
