Bobby Flay & Brooke Williamson Reveal If They’ll Ever Get Married
What To Know
- Bobby Flay and Brooke Williamson explained whether they are interested in getting married in the future.
- News broke in March 2025 that the Food Network stars’ friendship had turned into a romance.
- The couple also shared the story behind the diamond ring Flay gave to Williamson, which she previously denied was an engagement ring.
It’s been a year since Bobby Flay and Brooke Williamson‘s relationship went public, and they’re happier than ever.
Back in March 2025, a source confirmed the couple’s romance to People, stating, “They have been friends for a while and recently decided to jump in. Her divorce last year probably gave them some additional shared experiences and over the last few weeks, love bloomed.” (Williamson finalized her divorce from Nick Roberts in 2024.)
While the couple is still going strong, they aren’t interested in making their relationship legally binding. On the March 31 episode of Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, Flay said he defines Williamson as his “life partner.” She said of the title, “I love it. I love being that person for him.”
Host Elvis Duran later noted that Flay had previously stated he has no interest in getting married again. The Beat Bobby Flay star has been married three times to Debra Ponzek, Kate Connelly, and Stephanie March.
“I wouldn’t do that to her,” Flay told Duran. Williamson added, “I don’t have some major emphasis on marriage where I feel like it’s a necessary thing… It’s a conversation, and we both need to be on the same page, and we are.”

The couple further explained their feelings on marriage while sharing the story of the diamond ring Flay gifted Williamson. Williamson had to shut down engagement speculation after being spotted wearing the jewelry piece.
“We were in London, and there was actually, like, a whole conversation about me. [He was like,] ‘Are you sure that you’re okay with never getting married again?'” Williamson shared. “And I was like — we had the conversation that morning.”
Flay, for his part, said he debated what to get Williamson to show her that he was “committed to this relationship in a way that was bigger than just like, ‘Let’s date.'” He recalled, “Before I gave her the ring, I said, ‘I just want to make sure, I want to have this conversation with you one more time. Please. I’m sorry that we keep talking about this. I just want to make sure that marriage is not something that you want to do again because it’s not something that I think I can do again.’ And she’s like, ‘No. Absolutely. I’m totally fine with not ever getting married again.'”
Flay continued, “I said, ‘Okay, great. Well, in that case, I got you a gift.’ And she opened it up and I was like, ‘I think, for fun, you should wear it on the opposite hand of your engagement.'”
In addition to Flay suggesting she wear the accessory on her right hand, Williamson shared, “He also said, ‘Just because I don’t want to get married again doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve the big, beautiful ring.'”
All in all, Williamson and Flay agree they don’t need to be married to prove their love for one another. “Some people get married because it seems like the natural next step. And I don’t think marriage equals happiness, and I don’t think that not being married doesn’t mean you can’t be the happiest you’ve ever been,” Williamson explained. “And I think the conversation about the marriage prior to the ring was to make sure that I wouldn’t be disappointed by opening a box and not having it mean that.”
