After three seasons of looking for love on Netflix’s beloved series Love on the Spectrum, franchise star Connor Tomlinson has revealed that he is not returning as a main cast member for Season 5. Now, he’s sitting down with Swooon to explain why he’s decided to exit and what’s next in his blossoming on-camera career. (Love on the Spectrum Season 4 spoilers ahead!)
During Season 4, Connor broke up with his girlfriend of over a year, Georgie Harris, whom he met during Season 3. While he told Swooon that he’s still looking for love, he will not be continuing his journey towards romance on-camera.
“Well, actually, I’m going to be honest. I think I’m going to let someone else take the limelight,” he revealed to Swooon. “I feel like the world knows my story. The world’s gotten to know me, and it’s done me wonders. But I think it’s time to pass the torch.”
So, what’s next for Love on the Spectrum‘s breakout star? According to Connor, this is anything but the end of his time on your TV. After appearing on an episode of the most recent season of Brilliant Minds, Connor is pivoting towards acting and focusing on a “solo career.” He told Swooon, “I’m gonna be moving on. I’m gonna be working on my solo career. The next big thing.” Of course, when we asked if there was anything already in the works, he teased, “We’ll see!”

Netflix
While Connor isn’t leaving Love on the Spectrum with a romantic relationship, we were sure to ask about the most important connection he made during the show: His friendship with Tanner Smith.
Recently, Tanner posted a video explaining why he’s not in Season 4. On Instagram, Tanner confessed, “I figured out that I want to travel, that I have big dreams, and I’m not ready to be somebody’s boyfriend.” Since he’s not actively looking for love, Tanner explained that it wouldn’t be fair of him to be on a show about dating anymore. That said, he told his followers with a dramatic wink, “You never know where else I might show up!”

“I always thought me and Tanner would be a duo act like, you know, Bing Crosby and Danny K, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, that sort of thing,” Connor revealed to Swooon. “I always figured maybe a comedy duo. Like, we’d have a sitcom together. Someone even suggested we should probably do a spinoff.”
When asked if he would be game for the Love on the Spectrum spinoff, fans are so eager to watch, he told Swooon, “Yeah!”
