Oh yeah, baby! Now that Madison Marilla and Tyler White are finally able to talk about their engagement publicly, it’s time for the wedding planning to begin.
Madison and her Cowboy Sweetheart, Tyler, met during Season 3 of Love on the Spectrum and quickly became one of the show’s fan-favorite couples. At the end of Season 4, Tyler surprised Madison with a proposal during a Christmas-in-July-themed date celebrating their one-year anniversary. Later, the couple got together with the rest of the LOTS family to celebrate their engagement, inspiring a heartwarming rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from members of the cast.
After becoming the U.S. version of the beloved series’ first engaged couple, Madison and Tyler sat down with Swooon to take viewers behind the scenes of their July engagement and give us a much-needed update on their wedding planning. Read on to find out all about the couple’s lives today!

“I definitely would say once we started dating and everything started coming together,” Tyler revealed when asked when he knew Madison was the one. “But I also wanted to not rush into engagement, you know, definitely take my time, and then when the timing is right, do it. And then, I knew probably one of the best times to do it, [was to] go back to our first date, spot on the one-year anniversary, and ask her, and do a special Christmas in July engagement.”
According to Madison, she had a “gut feeling” that Tyler was planning a proposal long before he got down on one knee. Taking us behind-the-scenes on the night Tyler asked her parents for their blessing, Madison told Swooon, “Tyler pulled my parents aside as they were walking out, and Tyler’s dad, Tim, distracted me in the man cave… Tyler and my parents were talking for well over an hour. I kind of had a gut feeling, deep down, that he was asking them for their blessing that night.”
Of course, Tim pulled out all the stops to keep Madison from walking in on the big conversation. She explained, “He said, ‘They’re talking about our upcoming trip to Alaska.’ He was saying all this stuff to distract me. He was very good at tricking me… I’m making my jewelry for my business [Madizen], and I have the TV on. And he just—he was standing right by the door to make sure I didn’t get out.”
Naturally, Tim wasn’t the only one steering Madison away from her engagement theory. In a deleted scene from Season 4, her brother, Parks, unwittingly distracted Madison, offering up plenty of his own theories about how they would celebrate their anniversary.

Now that Madison and Tyler’s engagement has been made public, they’re thrilled to get started on plannign their wedding. However, with Tyler’s music career in full swing and premarital counseling ahead, they’re planning on a long engagement.
“We haven’t planned much yet because of, you know, the NDAs with television and stuff, but I know that I want to get my music career going off the ground and also be in a place where I can support Madison,” Tyler explained. We’re gonna do premarital counseling, as we’re Christians and we want to have a nice, godly marriage,” Madison added.
That said, they’re not waiting until later to plan everything. Madison and Tyler already have clear visions for what their bridesmaids and groomsmen will wear on the big day. “I really want—my favorite color is red, so all my bridesmaids are going to be wearing red,” Madison revealed. “My best friend, Haley, from childhood, she was looking at red dresses as soon as I asked her.” Carrying on the Christmas theme, Tyler wants his groomsmen to wear green suits and, of course, cowboy hats.
In addition, Madison’s been imagining her own dress and overall look for the day. Of course, she’s still hoping for a call to be on Say Yes to the Dress!

Looking forward, fans are hopeful that Madison and Tyler will continue to share their journey on Love on the Spectrum. When asked if they’re planning on getting married on-camera, the duo teased, “Well, we don’t know yet!”
One thing fans can definitely look forward to, however, is Tyler’s upcoming debut single, “Oh yeah, baby,” in the key of A flat. He revealed, “It’s going to come out May 15. It’s going to be streaming on all different streaming platforms and will be on radio stations in markets all across America. I wrote this song with Drew Trosclair, Jeff Garrison, and Lee Thomas Miller, who’s [written] with Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson, Terri Clark, and a whole lot of others. I have a feeling it’s gonna be a #1. It’s gonna have a lot of people singing and dancing along to it.”
While she admitted that she is biased, Madison told Swooon, “I’ve heard all of Tyler’s music,” letting us know that her fiancé is her favorite artist. “I had this dream when I was a senior in high school that I was dating a country boy. And little did I know, 10 years later, that dream would be coming true.”
