‘Survivor’: Who Is Stephenie LaGrossa’s Husband? A Deep Dive Into Her Family
More than 20 years after Stephenie LaGrossa first played Survivor on Season 10, she’s back as a cast member on the show’s milestone 50th season. This is Stephenie’s fourth time, and she’s chasing her first win, having previously finished in seventh place (Season 10), second place (Season 11), and 19th place (Season 20).
Since her last Survivor appearance in 2010, Stephenie has gotten married to and started a family with her husband, Kyle Kendrick. Upon returning home from filming Season 50 in 2025, she shared a family photo on Instagram with the caption, “My heart is full #home #mypeople #survivor.”

What does Kyle Kendrick do for a living?
Kyle is a retired professional baseball pitcher. “He’s fine with being retired,” Stephenie told Sports Illustrated. “He would like to get back in some capacity with baseball, but he likes being home, he likes helping with the kids, he likes being a stay-at-home dad.”
The former pro athlete was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2003. After several years playing in the Minor Leagues, he made his Major League debut in 2007. Although he was left off the team’s postseason roster in 2008, he earned a World Series ring as a member of the team that year.
Kyle played with the Phillies until 2014, then signed a one-year deal with the Colorado Rockies in 2015. He played in the Minor League in 2016 before being traded to the Boston Red Sox in 2017. He only played two Major League games with the Red Sox and retired by the end of that year.
While appearing on The Jack Vita Show in February 2023, Stephenie explained that she and her husband “always had an understanding” that she would support him throughout his entire baseball career, as long as she would have the opportunity to pursue her own career dreams once he finished playing.
“I said to him, I will support you your entire career. I will follow you wherever you go. My life will become your life. I will give it all up for you,” she said. “But when you’re done playing, if the situation presents itself, and the time is right for me and our family, whatever that may be, and it’s a good opportunity, I’m going to take it. And he always was supportive of that and OK with that.”
This led to her 2022 appearance on Snake in the Grass, 2023 showing on The Traitors, and now, Survivor 50.
How did Stephenie LaGrossa meet her husband?
Stephenie and Kyle met in April 2008 at the bar she owned in Philadelphia. He was playing for the Phillies at the time. They got engaged just over a year later in July 2009 (just weeks before Stephenie left to film Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains) and tied the knot in November 2010.

Prior to her relationship with Kyle, Stephenie was married to Michael Ward, a high school history teacher. He proposed in December 2005, after seven years together. They got married the following summer, but divorced after just one year.
